First Journal 2 clones and 3 new strains (to me)

Hello Roll It Up community,

I have been growing for a few years now but have just recently decided to start a journal. I actually learned much of what I know now by watching these forums. Now I hope to maybe give back a little of my knowledge to other new growers, thats not to say that I could always learn a thing or two myself. Well I just kinda picked a place to start so here goes. I just planted 3 new beans. 8 ball kush, Cherry Bomb and Ak 49. These strains were pretty much picked at random from the single seed company. They are all femanized and Im very excited to be growing something new. The 2 clones you see in the pic are Ambrosias. Between me and another friend of mine we have kept this strain alive for a little over 2 years and let me say I love this strain. Its the high that sold me on it. A very awake/alert high that allows me to carry on my day to day business. I usually dont smoke marijuana unless its socially. Im more into cooking and making tea with my finished product. My small veg area consists of 3 2ft t5s and the flower area has a 250 watt hps. I have a 400 watt packed away but with my limited space its a little much. Plus I usually only flower 3-4 at a time so it has proved to work out just fine. One of the ambrosias will probable be chosen for a mother. These plants will have to finish within 100 days bc im going to be traveling for about 4 weeks leaving at the end of july. I know its kinda tight but i think it will be ok. Also they will be moved straight from the solo cups into the flower closet where they will immediately be on 12/12. Well hope to get some feedback, anything you want to know that I left out just ask. the 3 new plants have yet to break through the soil. Soon though  well happy growing from the Kenai Peninsula AK! Oh yea and I am a card holder so this is a 100% legal medicinal grow well within my legal limits and numbers. Had to throw that out there.

So I went ahead and moved the 2 ambrosia sisters into the flower closet. They were itching for more space and the roots were beginning to grow out of the drainage holes. They are still a bit smaller than I like them before I flower them so they will be on 24/0 light for 7 days then ill switch it over. The larger plant in the back is an autoflowering strain I planted just to see how I liked it. I have never grown an autoflower before and wasnt very impressed. I like things to happen on my time not on some weird genetic timer. No loss though it was a free. I also have some auto ak and several other autos but like i said i wasnt really impressed. I guess I can see how they could come in handy though. I was really concerned that the Ambrosias would burn when i put em in the soil. I havent changed out soil for about 9 months now lol and on my last grow I pushed em to the max as far as nutrients go. So far no burn though. Also the 8 ball kush has made its debut into this world. I LOVE GROWING FROM SEED lol. I have been mainly cloing for awhile now and for some reason I like watching the whole process. Something majestic about growing from seed.....no homo. The tub the plants are in is a 22 gallon tub. I have actually flowered up to 6 plants at a time in the tub. Absolute CHAOS is what it was lol but I actually had a great yield. Never had a scale before so tough for me to judge exactly how much but i had at least 3oz, not to bad for 6 plants in such a small area. That was also a scrog but I dont think im going to scrog these. Ill just top em once maybe twice and let em grow.

Ph is sitting between 5.8-6.2 depending where you check it and temps never exceed 80 degrees F. This plant has been in this medium for over 2 weeks now and I have added nothing but ph adjusted water. It looks like shes burning up but the other 2 plants are fine and much smaller. I have never had this problem before. Every thread i read has a different answer for the same problem. I dont want to do anything until I can figure out the problem. It stumps me bc it just started out of the blue. It began at the top and worked its way down then moved to the secondary growth. Any recommendations? Maybe a light feeding ofCalMag?View attachment 2627553View attachment 2627555View attachment 2627559View attachment 2627560View attachment 2627561

I went ahead and moved my light up a few inches in hopes it will correct the problem, I guess in a couple days ill try a dose of calmag. Everything I can find says heat stress but at the hottest portion of the day the plants still only experience a max of 80 F..

Make sure you're checking the temperature near the plant. The radiant heat may be getting too high and drying out the leaves faster than the plant can hydrate

Thats what im thinking. Like I said I have never had this problem before. However, thats a strain I have no experience with. The only thing thats changed in this grow is the strain and the fan. The fan I have on em is pretty strong so this may be contributing to the drying out as well. I raised the light, turned down the fan and will be misting her lightly throughout the day. Also instead of 24/0 i went ahead and put them on 18/6 so hopefully this will clear the problem up.

The 2 ambrosias seem to be doing fine. I went ahead and declared the autoflower dead. It was a crispy critter, I have no Idea what went wrong. Im going to bury the thought of that one and move on though. The ambrosias have taken well to their new home and available root space, they are starting to beef up a little, I topped the one on the right last night for the 2nd time. Ill wait till the one on the left grows vertically another node or 2 and do the same to her. Overall all systems are a go. Im just slightly concerned as to what happened to the auto and more concerning is why did it happen so quick. The seedlings are 8ball Kush at 5 days and the Cherry Bomb and AK 49 at 3 days.IMG_1860.jpgIMG_1861.jpgIMG_1862.jpgIMG_1863.jpgIMG_1864.jpgIMG_1865.jpgIMG_1866.jpg

IMG_1877.jpgIMG_1878.jpgIMG_1879.jpgIMG_1880.jpgIMG_1881.jpgIMG_1882.jpgSo the 2 Ambrosia clones are still continuing to beef up. Their mom never had fan leaves this fat but they are looking good. The seedlings are 8 Ball Kush at one week and both the Cherry Bomb and AK49 at 5 days. Im still worried about moving the seedlings into the tote in fear that they will Burn in the hot soil. Everything MUST be in the closet in flower by May 10th Im leaving for 4 weeks july 15. I know its kinda pushing it but it is what it is at this point.

The ambrosias look yellow because of the light. They are actually very green with the light off. They look like they may be developing the slightest bit of a N deficiency but i will not give them anything until the seedlings are well established in the tote and much larger.

IMG_1888.jpgIMG_1889.jpgIMG_1890.jpgIMG_1891.jpgAnd now were growing. The ambrosias are looking a little pale but I gave them a light feeding. I just made sure i kept it on the side away from the seedlings. Also when transplanting the seedlings into the tote today, I dug out about a 6"X6" wide and 12" deep area around and added fresh soil in an attempt to keep them from burning up. We shall see what happens. Hopefully the nutes green the ambrosias up a bit. They have never been fed so im sure thats their issue. Maybe the soil isnt as hot as I was thinking but i would still rather be safe than sorry.

IMG_1893.jpgIMG_1894.jpgIMG_1895.jpgIMG_1897.jpgIMG_1898.jpgIMG_1899.jpgIMG_1900.jpgLuckily the seedlings didnt burn and have undergone no shock when they are transplanted. Everything seems to be going according to plan.

Things are about to get very crowded :hump:. Ill pull the trigger on the 12/12 in about a week. I wish I had some more time but I don't.

Oh and the single solo cup in the middle is an AK automatic. Im going to put it in the woods behind my house in about two weeks. Ill put this alaska light cycle debate to rest lol.

So here we have 8ball Kush, Cherry Bomb and AK49 chilling under the light. I fed them for the first time the other day and you can see where I splashed em with nutrient enriched water. I took off a buuuuuuuunch of the fan leaves on the Ambrosias. They were being greedy with their space lol. I know I took a little much off but i have done this before and in a week as always I assume there will be 2X or 4X the amount of leaves to take their space. Other than that all systems are a go. The little one in the solo cup is an AK automatic and will be placed in the woods behind my house on wednesday. Hopefully the moose dont eat it but I fear they will. This is a test run for next summer. If all goes well....Well lets just say you couldn't beat Alaska for a guerrilla grow, theres really nowhere that isnt remote lol.IMG_1912.jpgIMG_1913.jpgIMG_1914.jpgIMG_1915.jpgIMG_1916.jpgAnd We are I think about 5 days into flower. I guess you could pretty much call the smaller ones 12/12 from seed. Im interested to see this. Never done 12/12 from seed. I also dont think ill be topping them at all. That will be cool to see the difference between the ambrosias that were topped 2X a piece and the others untopped,.

IMG_1924.jpgIMG_1927.jpgIMG_1928.jpgIMG_1930.jpgIMG_1933.jpgIMG_1934.jpgSo the smaller gals in the back of the tote are from left to right. Ak48, 8ball Kush and Cherry Bomb. The Center one the 8ball kush is really stretching her legs so I gave her a little haircut this morning in an attempt to keep her from getting to much taller than the other two shes already about 2 inches taller. I knew this would probably be an issue at some point but nothing that cant be fixed. The 2 ambrosias are already starting to fill in again and will probable be due for another cleanup next week. Well once again all things seem to be in order. I began a feeding schedule for the entire setup the other day and will continue to feed every 3-4 waterings or when they ask for it. Im still using a balanced nute solution but will transition to a bloom regiment as soon as the 3 smaller ones begin to show sex and flower. I have never done 12/12 from seed so I dont know how long this will take. The 2 clones are already beginning their stretch and Im excited to see tiny buds forming soon.

So things are starting to to fill in and they are starting to take on some characteristics of flowering cannabis plants :eyesmoke: The 2 ambrosias are not stretching like I thought they would but I bet they pick up soon. I have been doing some HEAAAVY defoiling of these plants. I kinda have to and things will only get more crowded from now on. The 3 plants in the back starting from left to right are AK49, 8ball Kush and Cherry Bomb. The red solo cup is an AK Auto that I tried to go put outside yesterday only to discover the ground was still frozen solid lol. It may end up living out its life in the solo cup but we shall see. So far no buds and I havent really been looking for them to show sex. They are all Femanized so Im not to terrible concerned about it. Well anyways I would say that all systems are a GO! Also its amazing to see the 3 plants in the back, I topped the center one bc it was getting to talll and the difference is pretty crazy. Secondary growth really pushed out and have overtaken the primary cola with at least 4 different colas. Well everyone have a great monday and keep it green.IMG_1180.jpgIMG_1181.jpgIMG_1182.jpgIMG_1183.jpgIMG_1184.jpgIMG_1185.jpgIMG_1186.jpgIMG_1187.jpg
