Alright so I had a good friend pass away about 2 weeks ago now. After the funeral we all went out for drinks. I learn her and another friend started germinating seeds just for shits and gigles stoned the night before she passed. I had been collecting a hps 400w light and mh 400w light and supplies for some time thinking of growing. This event caused my lazy ass to get it started with one of her seeds. He simply left it moist in a towel for 7 days or so, it some how was still alive. With a shoot and a long ass root. I didnt have much hope planting it but 5 days later she(hopefully) is doing great. I have seeds on the way from attitude and figured I would test my room with this. I will post pics tomorrow and make this journal for it and my others on the way. :peace:

So I am going to post in here and in the grow room forum. You can get a brief idea of my little room I have going on. I have one problem I need to find a solution for. As I wanted to close off an open space the only thing I could think of was shower liners. Those are whats hanging on the fist pic that the light is shining through. They worked great. They are a semi gloss white and hold more light than I thought. Also hold heat well, Problem being I want to cover the ceiling and two block walls with something the same. The shower curtains were 8 bucks a peice for heavy duty ones and that adds up quick. So does anyone have any other ideas........? All comments are welcome in my journal as well!

Well for sake of being bored I will tell all a little about the setup. Need to take a break from all this reading...lol. I have the two lights beaming on this girl about 14 inhes away....lol...800 watts one plant! Cant wait for those seeds due to the electric bill I will get. But I also have a small heater in there since its an un heated area and it blows air. The temp has remained between 74 and 78. And the humidity is under 50 always so far. I used miracle gro potting soil with lots of perlite. I am watering every other day about 100ml water. I due have one question. I havent seen many ppl using both mh and hps lights both through a whole grow. I think it should be fine as long as I rotate the pots evenly but was wondering if any of you had an opinion or expierence....

That ur basement? Kinda dungeonish lol but very cool looking HID light setup, the draped plastic tarp reminds me of a horror film science experiment.

yes....its all out dungeon.....secret access through closet and all! I wanted to close off a small area so I used the thick curtains....lol...funny you say that my gf came down scared shitless to begin with and was like "what the hell, it looks like your killing ppl down here"....ha...And I actually am in the process of hanging black 6mil plastic around it so it doesnt look like the gates of heaven and holds some more light....plus hanging more white on the block walls and ceiling....had to take a break.....:joint:

Well got some new pics up. As of two days ago I hung the white liners and the black plastic. I believe it made a pretty sizable improvement on light. The plant has increased pretty rapidly in size. Its seven days old today since its been planted atleast. I am fairly impressed for it being some bag seed and being in a paper towel its first seven days. So all is well so far in my first grow. Ordered my dutch passion blue berry crossed with cheese seven days ago as well. CANT WAIT!!!!

Well the bag seed is two weeks old today. The younger northern lights is doing pretty good. It seems to have one leaf doing something wierd, it looks deformed. The rest of the plant seems fine and healthy and growing, dont really understand. On a good note I got my tracking number and as of saturday my seeds landed in new york city it says. Hopefully will have them by the end of the week....peace

Well my seeds finally came today! I am so pumped. I just germinated them. It is my first time so I followed widow maker's method of a paper towel in a cup with a small amount of water in the bottom. I am nervous but I hope it works out cause these little feminized ladies were pricey! Comments welcome ladies and gents...:hump:

Well all five seeds cracked by last night. I planted them in solo cups on there 4 gallon potters so they are in the same spot they will end up in. I also got a hold of a new reflector for the metal halide light. The one I had was clear and I swear it was wasting all of the light, so I found a aluminum one that reflects it down better. The other two plants are doing very good, there happy so I am happpy....peace out!

Well time for an update. The first plant that was bag seed (laurel) is really droopy. I had the potter sitting just on the ground and it was draining properly and its overwatered. Its been 4 days since watering and I cant get it to perk up:evil:. The northern lights plant is doing great. Its growing sweet. It did start growing towards the light a little so I spun it 180degrees. All the new blue cheese plants are above ground and doing awesome. If anyone has any advice on drying out this soil please do....I hope its not beyond repair for my friends sake.....:-?

Everything is going good. The northern lights plant is beasting. It is a week younger than the bagseed and taller and thicker. On that note the bagseed is still struggling to recover. In a attempt to dry the soil out I put it closer to the lights and gave it heat stress....after 5 days of nursing it is finally giving me hope. The blue cheese is showing its first signs of the second nodes forming so all good there. Anyone still following this grow....I will post pics if there is intrest.....much love...peace
