First post in a forum ever!

Guys, I am a total newb. Will trichomes or crystals appear after the first 12 hours of darkness. I woke up to my plants looking like they had powder or small white dots. Is this good or something I should worry about?!? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum!
for the pictures I agree, purples hard to diagnose properly, if you can use your flash or a white light that would help us all give good feedback.

Also, if you could give us some information on your environment (temp/Rh%) nutrients and the growing medium, we’ll be able to give the best answers to your questions

(but judging from the photos given, I wouldn't be worried, looks pretty normal)
Hope the grow goes well!

Thanks for the advice! When I say newb, I mean NEWB. I planted 12 seeds into miracle grow soil in those 6 cup seed starter trays. I’m not sure what they are called but this was back on November 11th. The seeds sprouted and since I work from home, my plan was to just move the plants into sunlight throughout the day. Well when they started to flop over is when I first hit the forums lol. Found out, obviously, they were reaching for light and had stretched themselves thin. That’s when I went on Amazon and bought them their first LED. It’s was $22 and worked at first, they seemed to stand back up but still appeared thin. I discovered the LED I bought was the equivalent to a 25w halogen. After growing attached and buying a 2x2x4 grow tent, a Bloomspect 600w LED, Fox farm soil, fox farm nutrients, fan, one gallon grow bags and switching to flower after 4 months, here I am. Temp is 77 and humidity stays around 35. I have attempted the manifold technique with the plans of modifying to down size to 4 man colas due to my size of grow bags and tent. Due to the initial trial and error, the plants started off slow but have since recouped. Last night after 4 months, I gave them their first 12 hours of sleep and they woke up to the Veg AND bloom light for the first time.

Looks like you got bit by the bug! Its a pretty fun hobby and its really easy to get addicted. More addictive than smoking it! I don't even smoke but growing is one of my favorite things!

Sounds like how I (and many of us here) got started aha. Seems like you’ve been doing your research too, awesome job! Can’t wait to see how they flower, keep us posted with your progress eh? Are they a particular strain or bag seed surprise?

These are random bag seeds, it wasn’t til I got my medical card and began buying ounces that I thought to categorize the seeds I found by strain. I honestly thought these would would die somehow but even though I left them in the cold and neglected them the first month, they’ve thrived. Once, i have some Strawberry cough and LA Zkittles that are seedlings though!

Everyone has to start somewhere. Bag seed was it....in the early '80's Emery's catalog, and decades later....alive and swell!! Keep em growing!
