First time blueberry kush grower

@throwdo do you have any ideas or experience in mainlining? I was thinking of growing with this technique but I really dont know how long I'll have to veg them for to achieve 8 colas. Any technique that'll require 3 months or more from germination will not be an option for me. Good looking out. Peace

I just transplanted them 2 days ago to 1 gallon pots. They seem happy now. I just want to observe their health for another day or 2 before I top em.

The plants are four weeks old today and are happy in their one gallon pots. Did some pruning too.

The third plant was F.I.M.ed. Y'all can tell me what you think about my progress so far. Ideas, contributions and questions are welcome.

Hi guys!

My plants are 5 weeks old today. I already topped them in prep for my mainline technique. The ladies seemed to be growing well until 3 days ago. I began to notice small brown spots that look like small splashes of mud. I noticed the spots yesterday and 24 hours later I could tell they got bigger. Some leaves seem to have the brown coloration along the edges of the leaves. Each plant has four fan leaves on the lower nodes from where they were topped. They also don't seem to be as green as they were when they about 2 weeks old.

The new leaves at the top of the plants seem to be even less greener than the older leaves. I don't know if its a calcium or potassium deficiency. My run off PH has always been around 7.5. I flushed several time during this grow and kept feeding with PH 5.5 - 5.8 but it didn't change so I let it be since it didn't have any negative effect on the plants.

Any tips on how to reduce the PH of my root environment will be much appreciated. Please guys safe my plants.

Here are some pics of what the plants look like now and close ups on the leaves.

This one has always been they least developed since they were seedlings. It also seems to be the most affected by the brown spots.

This one is the biggest of the 3 and seems to be least affected. But when you closely you can tell she affected too.

This is the mid-sized one among the 3. Its affected too.

how much lime was in the soil? what is the ph of the water going in? vinegar or citric acid would be useful to lower the ph of the water going in. check your grocery store for a refridgerated drink called kombucha. this is a probiotic drink that ranges in ph of 2-3. the probiotics help the trade of nutrients to balance everything out. ive actually done this to bring down ph on a plant but i brew my own kombucha so its super cheap. citric acid crystal are super cheap to buy from health food stores.

Thanks. I've heard of this before but I was just waiting on someone to mention it. I'm actually growing in coco coir. Will this citric acid or vinegar addition work in my medium?

citric acid would be a more permanent solution than vinegar since vinegar evaporates. in any case, yea thatd be ok. check in organics section, theres a tek on the citric acid thats been stickied

Im a hydro guy myself but still am enjoying your blueberry grow good growing
Thanks man. I heard blueberry kush is a feisty plant that's why I took on the challenge. I'm hoping more people will learn from my own mistakes cos I noticed there are very few successful blueberry journals here and on youtube. I really hope I do this right.

Not at all lol. Been running bb kush for 2 years. Easiest thing in world. Bushy is only downside. Defoliate it and watch 10 more fans come up in place of the 1 you take off.... nice colas , good smell , great yielder. I go 9 weeks. Pops nicely that time. I scrog

Damn! Freaking awesome grow room. I was just working on a design to convert a 20ft shipping container to a grow room. This is the best template I've seen so far. Thumbs up bro. Whats the size of this set up and how do you water and prune? There seems to be no space between the plants so how do you access them?

I'm hopefully starting off in a 20ft container by the end of this year. My closet grow is more or less a case study to know how much yield I can get off one plant. Its more like an experiment. When I'm ready to set up I'll consult you. I hope you'll be here to help me out. Thanks man.

all experience you can get is a good thing, just realize that plants will grow different in different environments, and even effect each other in close proximity. if you're trying to get your highest yield possible out of a given area, i would suggest reading up on the sea of green technique, including how they effect each other and equalize their own canopy

Thanks @Roger A. Shrubber I have read a lot about it. I was thinking of growing with the mainline technique. Not sure yet though. Still in the early stages of planning so I'd still give it more thought

Week 6 (Day 39)

Hello people!
Here's another visual update of what my ladies looked like last night. They've been under a 400 watt Metal Halide light for about 5 days now. I haven't noticed any major change in growth rate since I had it installed. Besides that the calcium deficiency seems to be under control. Growth rate is gradually picking up. In terms of pruning I haven't done much to develop the mainline. They ladies were a little stressed out by the calcium deficiency a few days ago so pruning what not an option then.

I must say these plants are meant to be really bushy. Inter node spacing is really tight but this also makes the plant respond quicker to pruning.

This one is the largest and healthiest of the bunch. She didn't even slow down while I was sorting out the calcium deficiency. I love her!
IMG_3453.JPG This is the mid-sized one among the three. Its missing one fan leaf on the left side. I broke it by accident.
IMG_3455.JPG Tiniest of the three. It was hit the hardest by calcium deficiency. I'm a little scared for this one. I hope she won't end up being stunted. Don't intend to do any pruning or training to this one in the coming weeks.A side view of the biggest plant. Pruned her lower larger fan leaves to promote development of the mainline.

IMG_3452.JPG Side view of the biggest plant. Pulled out her lower and larger fan leaves to promote development of the mainline.

IMG_3450.JPG Here's the second biggest plant. She too has her mainline but not as developed as the biggest plant so I left her lower fan leaves. Ordinarily I might have done some pruning but they're just recovering from stress so no pruning today for this one.

I do need help with my Metal Halide lamps. Its might first time of using them and I really don't know how far away fro the plants they should be at this stage of growth. They are currently about 3ft away from the plants. I could bring the light lower if I could cos I've got a cool-hood.

Any advice on the distance on the distance between my plants and my 400 watt meta halide?

Thanks guys!

i always found about 14 inches in a cool tube with a 400 to be about right, you can get closer but more sensitive plants will start to show taco-ing and possibly a little edge burn closer than that, and it leaves you with a decent sized footprint
