@aseboy- U asked about growing in swamps. N. Tampa had literally thousands of cypress swamps when I lived there. We never planted in them just hunted. But if youd care to scout places like that you will always start in water. but the larger ones will often have raised islands within. keep in mind these islands are full of wild life from armadillos to deer and hogs. Lotsa palmettos possible as well. If u see tunnel trails thru the palmettos it will likely be hog trails. The bigger the tunnel the bigger the hogs using them. These guys are indisciminate rutters. Short of concrete or steel barrier extending below ground nothing will keep them out of an area they want into. If u decide to use one of these areas be reasonably sure u dont see indications of them. Their rutted areas are unmistakeable. It will literally look like a tractor had been in there with a plow on the back and just tore the slop out of the place. Because I mention this last please dont think its of the least concern. That is that they are not only a prob for your gardens but they are not at all afraid to do you personal bodily harm. Good luck man and all the best. P.S.- If possible check the perimeters of these areas for drainage. Ditches even just low-lying open flat land where water can drain out.

haha try it out, if youve got good light penetration its bound to work out great. heres my bubba wreck, another hiding in plain sight grow. nothing more stealth than that

I just put a seedling Automaria2 in the middle of a stand of palmettos. It's still in an airpot. Eventually I'll dig out a large hole and mix up some potting soil, compost and the native soil when it's time to put her in the ground.

if you may have troubles in the future, id just suggest keeping it in the pot but submerge the pot 3/4 the way down so it can still spread root mass. making more holes on the bottom will help more roots get through.

alright i've found the perfect locations for my garden today. it's awesome. plenty of everything! now im just waiting on the girls to be ready. i had some questions though. can you plant fabric grow bags in the ground? and if you do will the ground help keep my soil moist? or even dry my soil out? I'm refering to the soil in the grow bags that is. Then if i put holes in the bottom of the bags will this allow for the plant to take root to the soil? I really like the fabric bags. I'm just wanting to leave them in the bags when i move them outside, but i want them to form a tap root in the soil so they require less watering.

as long as theres holes in the bottom it should be able to spread out some roots, its hard for pots to really get dry here unless it doesnt rain for a week, i suggest keeping up on the weather in case we do have a tropical storm. ive also heard of people putting pvc in the ground so air can get the the roots in case of heavy watering but i never though this would be that effective. it might be a good idea to tie your stem to a post or a stick in case you get heavy winds.

crazyhazey dude your awesome! def. getting some +rep from me. i thought about tying them when they flower to support the plant but not at all about mother nature. Still new to the outdoors and haven't thought about out all angles of this yet. I got my seedling going from tiny cups i started them in to 1/2 gallon poly bags today. I planted two plants per cup so that way after i sex them hopefully i eliminate the extra buddy in each cup. Still got a couple wks till i do that though. Also got 3 gallon bags for my autos. they haven't tapped out their cups yet so I'm going to hold off on transplanting till then. plus i want to have better soil for their bags since this will be their final resting spot.

i highly suggest 5 gallons for future grows with the auto strains, the better your root mass the better your yield. and since your in the FL humidity, it might be a good idea to train them to grow vertical so theres more bud spots, big colas are good for the early winter when its not too humid but flowering now might make you a bit more prone to get mold damage. more bud spots also means more leaves as well as more separate buds so if one gets mold/pest damage you can just cut it and spare the rest. if you do put out your girls in winter though, feel free to let them grow single colas, but keep an eye out for mold.
and for your final transplant, use some high p and k soil and putting it on the bottom of the holes where your going to bury them in could be a good idea as well so when the roots find their way out of the bottom they can access more nutrients. its a good idea to collect rainwater now and even filling a bucket with hose water would be good, just let it sit out for at least 3 days, this way in case theres a drought you have backup water.
i also suggest filling the bottom inch of your pots with perlite, the roots will grow through easier. adding extra holes to the pot is also a good idea.

ok far as collecting water goes. i know its good to collect rain water, but i heard it was good to use the water that A/C's drips as well. Just wondering about that one. Luckily for me I haven't transplanted the auto yet b/c I'm waiting to get better soil. So when i pick up the soil I'll grab some 5 gallon bags and just use the 3's sometime later. How long does it take for auto normaly to take off? B/c I have my cups of MIDS seed are farther along then my autos cups with my Autos i ordered offline. so i'm just wondering when they're going to take off. They're a wk and half from seed and are still just at the first set of true leaves. while my MIDS has started it's second.

i would just stick to rain water, its well aerated and the pH is good. and im not to sure with the autos, they should grow pretty fast if you give them a good environment, most autos are said to finish in 60-80 days but everyone has a different idea of when its right to harvest. and bag seeds tend to be pretty fast, im growing two right now and i had a male that grew twice as fast as my other plant. just make sure your not over watering as well, its easy to over water with this high humidity. i make holes towards the bottom 5 inches of my pots and poke holes, if the holes dont collapse after you take out the pencil then its still got good moisture.

howdy,we grew in the deland area this strain in 3 gal. grow bags and had no problems at all growing in a palmetto patch. these in the pic was grown in maine on the coast last summer. after the spring florida crop. no mold in either place .good luck

Dude, as you know, I have a bunch of auto's going and mine are pushing 1 and 1/2 weeks. They are just now getting their 1st and 2nd sets of leaves. I would say week 3 will be the good week where you may see some pistils (granted it's a female) and then after that week, it's off to the races! Post some pics man!

A/C condensate is fine for ornamentals but not for edible crops. It contains a lot of bad tasting stuff from the aluminum, copper and lead on the evap coil.

like i said feel free to grow single colas in winter/early spring, much lower humidity. what strain were those girls?

those are a cross of ss early bud from wild rose and early wonder skunk from solar warrior that we made and stabilized over the last few years to just have the pheno i wanted. they are very mold resistant being breed and grown in a wet foggy rainy climate. they take 90 days start to finish. in florida i kept them under 24 hrs light feb15 to april 1st and put them outside in 3 gallon bags and they finish just fine while the days are still short enough not to bother them ,they are usualy done by memorial day just in time to have for smoke all summer growing in maine. 
this strain grow well in florida in 10 gallon bags
