First time grower best way to sex plants?

so i have a few friends that are growers and guess every one has there own way and style but when it comes to sexing there fucking driving me nutz so..

1st person says - that i should wait about 3-4 weeks in to it cut the tops off and put them under a light on 12/ 12 to deterim wich is wich and

2nd person says- just put the plants in 12/12 then u determine ich is wich then bring them back to 18/6 ( but from my reading i hear thats not good for the plants)


3rd person says just grown them all and when u start budding them ull be able to tell ( but is that a waist of time more soil to use and more work )


i mean i have all the bells in whistles i went all out got a 5x5x7 tent 1000hps light can fan and filter cold air duct fan and i drilled the wall and make a nice cold air duct so it just look like its a dryer hooked to it i read alot about this stuff and know my own but i like to have more opinions so please any info would be great

Depends on your planned grow method and how fast you want to know. If you grow a plant in veg long enough it should show sex anyway in "preflowers" without having to switch to 12/12.

If you planned on topping them anyway to get the split top cola and you have cloning gel you can use that method and mark the plants and tops and flower the tops to sex, or any cloned spot to check sex.

It's all a matter of preference..... sounds like your trying to keep a mother.... that may be totally different advise if thats the case....

wait about 2 weeks under 12/12.if you see a white hair your good.also,all depends on strain.could be 2-1/2 weeks or 3.Veg the plant long enough to get at least 4 clones.After your clones are rooted take 1 clone and bud it (12/12) while the others are vegin.In a few weeks you will know the sex.If its female Take the other three and flower.And by this time you can take more clones and get them ready.You will succeed.This method is sound and efficiant.No re-vegging needed.

Yea im not doing a little garden either i got about 20 plants right now gonan pick up like 4 clones so aleast i have that for guaranteed females so im relaly looking about making a mohter ill clone of all the famles my buddy has a 70 clone machine thing lol im just looking for a dank head stash and some some $$ oh and both strands i have right now are heavy yeilders ina little time there a 6 weeker sweet tooth / ak 47 and pinewarp/ak so yea thank for the advise

Good advice ! One more option is to veg long enough and the plant will usually so you what sex it is during veg. Don't drive yourslf crazy trying to decide the sex of the plants, if it is mature enough you will be able to tell, the first time it is something you usually worry about but trust me, you will be able to tell if you read a couple of threads on sexing, most of the worry comes from trying to figure it out sex too soon, when the plant is mature enough you will be able to tell easily especially if you are growing from seed because you'll have both male and female, you will easily see the difference.
