Thanks dude! For being only 6 CFL's, the buds came out much larger than I expected! Maybe next time a HPS light will be in order?

Either that or I will be getting rid of this closet

I think you should upgrade to an HPS...you won't be sorry :)

Honestly, thank you MD for your support. You were the one RIUser that stuck in here from the beginning and helped me out when I needed it.
I tip my hat to you.

I just cant wait to take my next step in life, which just might be leaving NY and moving westward for a possible education on this science. =)

All I can say, is this will definitely not be the last grow journal from me here.

Nice journal.

You can get a nice digital ballast thats dimmable that can use MH or HPS bulbs. They are nice, I got a 400 that goes 250-250super lumen-400-400SuperLumen.The Sl is just a bit more wattage pushed through the bulb. My air cool hood would fit perfectly in that enclosure :) Costly, but worth the upgrade from CFL's, that's where I started too. Get the bulb for the power you are going to use, so a 250 watt bulb for 250 setting, the spectrum is changed when you turn a 400watt bulb down to 250 watts. You'll be golden and rolling in buds :) Fat tight sticky buds.

I was going to buy an LED, but the techs not there yet, $600 for a 2.5x.2.5 coverage area for flowering is a BS, bullshit or a bit small you decide :)

Good grow! Healthy plants! well done. You did great work for a first timer that's really good. Look into organics :) ease of growth is insane.

Thank you for all the info man! I had looked into those cool tubes and thought they might fit. Oh man that'd be sick.
So you're saying that a 400w HPS bulb on a 250w ballast would be better set to than being set to 400w? And I agree on LEDs, give em time to haha. They're cheap. Eventually LEDs will be standard. So cost and heat efficient it's just not good enough spectrum and depth. Although the far red LEDs is brilliant haha. Still expensive yet. Give that a couple years.

Also, a question for everyone, I've done a ton of research on here and seem to hear so many different and opposite conclusions.

I have been attempting to burp. But the buds continuously smell grassy. I understand this is a chlorophyl diffusion problem. But cannot understand if it's because too dry or too moist.
Someone please help me save these girls

No what I am saying is if you have a 400 watt ballast set to 400 watt setting you should use a 400 watt bulb. If you have the 400 watt ballast set to 250 watt you should use a 250 watt bulb. Just use the proper bulb for the setting you want to use you'll be golden. The spectrum changes when you turn a 400 watt bulb down to 250 watts although it is perfectly safe to set a 400 watt bulb down to 250watts it's not optimal.

Gotcha. Thanks man. I will for sure keep that in mind. I originally was going to get a 150 HPS and ballast :(

150 watt would be fine. BUT if you upgrade your space you will have to upgrade your light. So for future proofing I would want to go with a good quality 400-600 watt. but that's just me. Could always use s 150 for vegging if you upgrade your space.

Just make sure you don't over power a bulb or they will blow up.

As for curing if they feel wet it's too wet. if they feel bone dry they prolly dried to fast. It's really that simple :) If they are bone dry try and not open for a couple days.

So how was harvest? Got a weight?
I don't have the weight unfortunately. Not yet. I have a friend who's going to let me borrow his scale for this. I'm excited for the dry weight!
I have it in 4 cup mason jar. Bottom to top basically of decent quality. Not all tho, some were tossed for poor quality.

Some were tossed? You could always make butter with that ;)
Don't overfill your jar...if you have another split it in half...and probably stop burping the jar...

Ok. I have more jars. And I'll stop burping. You think if they soak it'll help get rid of the chlorophyl smell?
