i am a first time grower and having a little bit of problems getting started i have read all about growing but still ain't sure if right from the beginning from when you first plant your seed should it be under 12/12 or something else and then later on switched to 12/12 or should it always be under 12/12 unless you are turning your plant into a mother plant.... if any one can help me out because i have planted my seed and i am not seeing any results

keep the light on for either 18 or 24 hours a day for a seedling. then let the little sucker grow. while it is growing you decide how much space you have for a plant to grow, now make sure to take in heat from light, pot size, etc. Then when you have decided how large you want it to get grow it 1/3rd of that size under 24 hours of light or 18. Then once it hits 1/3rd of the size put under 12/12. I would suggest doing alot of research on here, if you are asking this you will have quite a hard time without doing alot of reading

In a nutshell, while the plant is growing leaves, it'll take as much light as you wanna give it . . . I do 24 on/ 0 off . . . others 18/6, 20/4, etc.
When you're ready to start flowering, THEN it needs 12 on/ 12 off.
There are some growers experimenting with 12on/12off from day 1. You can search for "12/12 from seed" if you're interested in this method.

so if you wanna give it light 24/7 it will take it and it will grow properly or better??
Personally Ive always done 24 hours straight till i was ready for flowering. They grow just as fast. Just have to wait to see results after the seedling stage (after the first 2 weeks would be consider the seedling stage)

Why not just emulate nature? Growth takes place under a sun that shines 18/6. As the days shorten up, flowering begins. The life cycle of cannabis ends under 12/12.
