the thing with the promix is it does not have anything in it, except mycro (bacteria) cant spell it right now. You also have some PROmixes with anti bacteria in it. Which is GOOD!!! ergo the cheaper price. WHICH IS GOOD!!!. so when you begin to feed you know exactly what you are feeding. WHICH IS GOOD!!!! I like Promix. I have used it. It is good. But if you try to use it without a feed for 3 weeks you are going to have problems. sometimes I get a bail of promix and mix it with OF,and put my clones in it. The promix cools the OF and creates a airy mix so the roots can breath and grow. it is truly a good product. but you must remember it is a Moss (which is cool) and not soil. so the comparison is not equal.
I also use it when I cook my medium. it works. And I get more bang for my buck. and I pay something like 12 or 18 bucks per bag for OCean forest and a little more for Happy frog, and I think root organic is equal to the happy frog in price. I do not knock products or try to sell them. at best I will say I did not know how to use them correctly

I know for a fact you can grow healthy plants in FFOF with blurps.
Maybe you were doing something wrong.

i could have did alot wrong lol.First grow Led light.i could have did alot wrong lol.First grow inside.usually i throw some dirt in a hole outside boom i dont really have to do anything lol.So im Learning a different way..usually i throw some dirt in a hole outside boom i dont really have to do anything lol.So im Learning a different way.ill get it down im not worried.the burn stopped its pretty much staying where it was.Just gotta learn what each deficiency an stuff looks like.Just a matter of time.Get pointers from ppl that been through same stuff.

FF grows good plants.
Good air movement not only will help transpiration, it will help your pots dry a bit faster. FF soil is pretty airy. I doubt you are overwatering too much if you are using smartpots.
More pics are always welcome.

What one is better for added microbs recharge or photosynthesis plus?
I like photosynthesis plus because it give you straight microbes. I like recharge as well. If your looking to make a a good beasties environment. you will need some sweet, some food( no P), warmth and moisture. with those things you can use mykos, recharge, great white, earth juice microbes (cheap I like), name something. In a day or less they will bite in and you will see the difference as the plant begins to grow

I with you on the outside as well. i Dug a hole back fill with Ocean forest and got mad because i was not ready for them. the plants snatched in so fast and began to grow so rapidly I did not know what to do. so I smiled and said yeah, created a soaker hose ring around each plant. Bought a timer and said forget about it. see you september, then we hit them with some big bloom and molasses,it was truly a work of art. the plants found everything they needed to eat and we gave them a good jump start. it was at a vacant house next to a buddy. we also used the water because the water company never shut it off. then some people bought the house. but they also wanted to grow. and we did it again and again and again, we might do it again.

Nothing wrong with FFOF. I used my pots of it for 3 grows before turning it into no-till living soil. I've only used organics though. Microbes are definitely a good thing to add too. Here's the first round in straight FFOF.

I don't think your plants are too bad.
I'm sure spots are minor cal deficiency. Easy fix.
And those bottom most leaves just take the shock for different things like transplant. If it is not progressing up the plant, it is totaly normal.

With good soil, I just start feeding lightly when the plants start taking off. Usually 2nd or 3rd watering after transplant. The dry organic nutes break down slower so you can go sooner, even amend with it before planting. Your microbes feed it to your plant as they need it.
OF can go a few weeks before showing the need to feed. Just important to realize that adding a bunch of nutes right after transplant isn't going to help. That leads to problems like Matty had.

Happy growing :peace:

Ok so basically i moved em to fast into 4 gallon pots? I start them in the lil.brown pots in the attached pic.So should i move them to the fabric pot in the pic before 4 an 5 gallon? But you are right on the nose about the ph i was having that issue exactly. Was a lil low in ph an i think that led to my first issue with lock outs.View attachment 4490786
The darker almost starting to get tough looking fan leaves are indication you had a compound problem with too low of soil temps, causing slow E/T (evaporation/transpiration) which led to slight souring of the soil and nutrient lockout. As far as what size pots to plant in... completely depends on your environment! I never start smaller than 4” (good for winter and spring temps cuz the pots warm up easily), and do not usually start in any thing bigger than 8”. If I start with a 4” I graduate those to 8”. The next transition is trickiest because you don’t want your medium staying wet for extended periods of time waiting for it to dry out. So the best choice in pot size is based on your environment, space, and length of crop time. You are for sure going to need at least a Gallon of root space per month of growth. I try to exceed that and go for as much root space as my environment will allow. So if it’s summer and my soil temps are riding high around 75-80 I will go from a 1 gallon straight to a 3 gallon and fill her up, confident there is good air circulation and heat to get things moving. On the other hand if my environment runs cooler (especially at floor level) I will only fill that 3 gallon pot halfway and transplant into that (I can later, after my plants have stretched a bit in their new container, prune the unnecessary bottom growth and add more soil to fill it up, creating new feeder roots)!! I have been growing in soil mixes forever and find they offer superior quality if dialed into a perfect recipe! Fox farm doesn’t expect you to grow Craft Cannabis directly rom their media alone. This is why they make a wide array of mixes. On the flip side HP Pro Mix is Greenhouse germination room GOLD (high porosity neutral pH), but offers Zero nutrient Base. It is best to research Cannabis and understand that it originated in highly fertile regions. This doesn’t mean a high concentration of a liquid fertilizer is the answer, but rather an extremely complex nutrient profile in the soil is Key. To that point Fox Farm is onto something but is still best mixed with other favorites and is specifically good mixed with that HP Pro Mix for a perfect pH. That ratio is approximately 3:1, 3 parts Pro mix to one part fox farm. As far as your current plants, I would just grow them out how they are as to not disturb their cycles and simply improve upon your environmental conditions and soil mix for the future! Happy Growing
