The wal-mart 23 watt cfl's will get you through veging but if your going to use cfl's you should go with the 13" 105 watt 7000 lumen bulbs they're great because they still fit in a regular ballast and produce 7000 lumens compared to 1600 from a 23 watt.

No need for the 100's, just get a few 23's or 42's. End stage veggin, you have to fluoros, and 2 CFL's per plant, you will be jamming into the HPS...
Honestly tho, if you wanna save money, get a conversion bulb for your HPS system and put them under that.... You get MH spectrum in an HPS ballast.... Great product for sure. You guys are ready for more intense light...

Whats the heat intensity from those bulbs? I know they produce denser bigger buds but in my closet heat is an issue specialy with summer comeing around.

Heat it a def issue. It is easily controlled with good venting. I recently addes a carbon filter, and airflow dropped 50%, and temps rose 50%. I woke up to a 95 degree room, but with CO2 going, still too hot... I am going to get a booster fan next week, till then, the door stays open to keep the temps at 80....
Hope that helps, cheers...

can i continue with them till the end of veg?Its on 24/0 now but these days i ll change it to 18/6

Just imagine these 4 fluoro's under my plant. Its about 3,5-4k lumens. Is that ok?Have i got to change on cfls?

T5's, even better. I use two of these with 8-6500K bulbs(daylight).

They are plenty of light to veg with until I move them under a 600hps for flowering
For lighting i say fuck MH and HPS shits are too hot and too expensive. Just get a 105 watt cfl, puts out 6,900 lumens per bulb and you dont need a special fixture and you can put them super close to your plants like 4 inches off. Get like 4 bulbs and you got 27,600 lumens, plants will be very bushy with good buds. Did great last grow.

Lumens dont add mate...and a HPS/MH will kick a CFL's ass anyday of the week, not to mention that 4 of them will use almost as much electricity and make almost as much heat.

Agreed, why run 400W of inefficient CFL's when you can use 400W of high efficiency HPS....
Anyway, if you go the CFL way, stay away from the big 105's. Use more 42's and spread them around everywhere. You will get much better coverage with many smaller bulbs than just 4 big ones... More penetration = more bud sites. The 105-150's are good for top lighting, but you need the smaller ones for the sides, you can place them strategecally around the plant.
Or just get a 400HPS with a couple cfls' for side lighting... Cheers.

thank you guys for your time.Well right now i use 4x18w fluoro (daylight) and 1 cfl 25w (daylight too).
The timer now is on 18/6 and the plant is 25 days old.I got a problem with humidity. Its around 20-25%
i want to increase it up to 50%.I got no money for humidifiers,so a friend told me to get some wet towels and
spread them everywhere in the room.He said that i can get a huge box, cover it with water and put it in front
of my fan.I decided to try those techniques cause i got nothing to lose.
Pictures soon guys...

try to avoid cfl's. scrape together the loot for a hps for flower its worth the investment. also try floros meant for kitchen or bathroom for veg they are a warm light and will help boost humidity and temp and have a higher lumen count then cool white ones

I am gonna use HPS 400w on flowering, stop it at last.I made this post cause i want to hear ur opinion, about
my plant. So i used the wet towels technique and my humidity is 40-50% now.It worked pretty well, but i have to
moist them every day.Anyway guys here is my plant. Its 25 days old.How does it look like ppl?Just changed from 24/0
to 18/6.We will see...

yeah i had 2 125w cfl on my first grow for flower and had to up the cooling. a 250w hps puts puts out round 33000 lumen. 250w of cfl is half that if your lucky and they do get to hot without proper ventilation.

Your plants look pretty good. The typical CFL look to them, but very healthy. They will shoot up great with the HPS for sure. Get it going and flip the switch if you are happy with the height of your plant... It will double to triple in size... Congrats, looks great!

You can use the HPS to finish the vegging stage... I would recomment this so they don't get too mich of a shock to 12/12...
