First time harvest... HELP!

So I just began harvesting my first batch of wonderful girls but I guess I dont quite understand the harvesting and curing process. 5 days ago I took off four or five branches to hang and let the rest grow. Now those buds seem to be dry and the stem is semi brittle but on a website i read you should have them hanging (for best results) for around 3-4 weeks... whats happening with mine and should i put them in jars now or should I wait... any help would be amazing! thanks so much! :weed:

From one doc to another, I always let my stuff dry on a string for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I'm always 100% sure that it's dry enough. Then I place the buds in jars for curing.

3-4 weeks sounds like a stretch there. If your humidity is lower than 50%, 2 weeks is enough.

like you my man im a noob at this too haha but according to all the sites ive been reading the stem should bend and feel like it is about to snap but dont let it get dry enough to break. then put them in jars for a couple weeks depending on how you like your nugs.

the rule of thumb is that when the stems to the buds snap, not bend, but snap is the correct time to start the curing process. Put your buds in a glass jar and seal it overnight. the next day, dump out the jar and rearrange the nugs so that the ones that were on the bottom the previous night are on the top now. Rotate like this for about four days and the buds should be all dry. Now you can just leave the buds in the jar and just breathe the jar for about 45 min every day for the next week or two. Voila, perfectly cured buds.

I'd say, some 7-10 days of drying will be perfect for a humidity under 25%. As always the method of snapping the twig and hearing the snap is the rule of thumb when it comes to drying.

Tdent420 has the curing process all worked out.

ive been doing my homework and read from cervantes that a brown paper bag, like from the grocery store is ideal to let them dry, but not too much. 2 days i beilive, then the jar , ball of course or berrter... after manicure. good luck. keep us posted.

dont get them stupid plastic air tight fuckers......the lids get stuck....

My buddy lives in a dry climate as well.

He only hang dries for 2-3days, then he sweats them in jars for another 2-3days.

All I have to say is: B-E-A-utiful!
