Ok so I'm a first time grower and iv got a plant that is in it's 7th week of flower and the "flowers" aren't as big and heavy as I was hopping for. I wasn't here for flowering weeks 3-6 and it bushed up a lot so when I got home I pulled a lot of unnecessary leaves off and some of the lower "flowers" will this help or will it stress it and cause a hermie? Next thing is I have a clone and It took it about 3 weeks to take root and it is now looking very promising it's only about 3 inches tall with 3 working on 4 nodes and I was planing on scroging it any tips on that would be great! Also I heard the clones will grow and flower a lot faster than the first one. Is this true?

1) dont worry
2) train it young and leave some open space for it to stretch during flower
3) from what ive seen there is no difference in time. The plant grown from seed will usually be about10%- 20% bigger due to hybrid vigor during a side by side grow against a clone.

if you are in the 7th week of flowering and you just ripped a bunch of chlorophyll producing leaves, you are hurting yourself.
but also, you'd need to define "unnecessary leaves" if they were dried up and falling off, that's ok, if you took greenleaves off, you hurt yourself.
I don't know of clones growing faster than mothers, in my experience they grow identical.

Hi Mr.Doug

Congratulations on starting your first grow. Different strains take more or less time to finish flowering than others, its not uncommon for a strain to take 10 weeks or more to mature to a desirable level. One way to tell if your plants are ready to harvest is to get a microscope and look at the trichomes color. If you see that the trichomes are amber in color it is a good indication your plants are mature. The density of your buds will depend how much light your plants are receiving as well as other variables such as: growing medium, nutrients, temperature etc...

Some people use a technique called "lollipopping" where the lower fan leaves and popcorn buds are trimmed off the plant to allow the plant to focus more of its energy on the larger buds. There are different schools of thought of whether this is really effective. Another technique used by growers in the vegetative stage of growth is to "top" or "FIM" their plants so they grow more dominate cola sites.

Clones will grow at the same pace as the mother plant. However, because you already know the sex of the clones you could choose to put the rooted clones directly under a 12/12 light cycle bypassing the vegetative stage completely if you like.

All in all just remember to do the best with what you have and always keep learning and improving for the next grow.

All the best!

Will putting my 3 inch tall clone into flower that early hurt my over all size of the plant and my total yield?

It will certainty affect the size and yield of your plant. As a rule of thumb you can expect your plants to triple in size once they have been switched into flowering. So if you wanted to save time and not veg you could do so, some growers do this with many clones using a technique called "Sea of Green" or "SOG" . The plants will be smaller but the time taken is significantly reduced. On the other hand you can always take a rooted clone, veg it and even top it until it reaches your desired size and then flower it. There are many options for clones. Hope that helps.

unnecessary meaning getting no light. What I did was the lollipop thing because the bottom branches were making little, very airy, amounting to nothing buds so I removed them to try and bulk up my top buds.
