Just realized how very little alteration there is from my first mix list...:joint:haha, I guess an alteration from the thought that i was going to do up subcools mix...

This isnt intended to jack your post, but I too am a first time organic gardener. I am just wondering, I have compost but without any blood meal bone meal bat guano or worm castings in it. Can I just mix those into it, without having to wait the month or so for the stuff to recompost? If that makes sense :joint:
As long as that mixture stayes at the bottom, and just pure potting soil at the top like subcool talks about

I am not sure about that greatganja, Ill leave it to someone with organic experience to answer.

However, bulk organic material always takes time to decompose into its vital minerals - so I am assuming yes. Unless they were at the bottom of the mix for about a month (practically full outdoor veg time..) by the time at which it flowers it would be decomposted and feeding the roots..perhaps plausible?

I plan on only putting plants with over 4 nodes in my mix so as to reduce shock...with the potting soil used during transplanting, and all other shock reduction teks. The mixture would still be predominantly in the bottom of the bucket/hole, with a layer of the topping soil, and then a covering (1-2 inches) layer of potting soil.
