Hi guys I'm new to growing and was wondering if I'm doing a micro grow( 12 12 ) from seed would four 100w cfls do for 14 plants in a grow room that is 2x2x6. Input please. I also have a 6 inch fan blowing lightly? I'll send pics in the afternoon when lights come back on.

man i'll tell you i tried the cfl thing when i first started and had a room about your size. About the same amount of watts and got about a 1/8 to less per plant. i would say more lights but if you want to take full advantage of the room i would recommend a 250w hid. i got a 400w and best choice i ever made. but if your just learning or just messing around i would say more lights. also the bulbs are not 100w each that's the equivalent of the light put out compared to a standard incandescent bulb. it should say on the bulb actual watts which is most likely around 23w. but what your more after is the lumens of the bulb or the useable light spectrum of the bulb also want to make sure you have the right color bulb for the season you are trying to replicate. read this it will help a lot https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/107992-tutorial-growing-cfls.html also on the main page under indoor growing their is a cfl page with tons of great info. keep your head up it's get easier as you go along. hope i helped you and best o luck to you.

Im pretty sure when the OP said he was using 100 watt cfl's he actually is using 100 watt cfls and not the equivalent wattage, Keep in mind Cfl bulbs go up to 250 watts. To answer your question though you shouldn't expect a big yield and your buds are most likely going to turn out to be mediocre at best. As mentioned before you are much better off with a mh and hps light setup but if you insist on Cfls then at least take out a few plants and Whittle it down to maybe 6, assuming you have good reflectivity in your grow space.

Like above said...
I also grow small plants...
3g per plant is all I'd expect with the light set up...
If I go direct to 12/12 I get 3g
IDK... Lights as close as possible, plants as close as possible...
It's worth a try... If ya got it, use it...

CFLs suck, regardless of what other CFL users want to try and tell you. They just want to justify their crappy grows.

in my opinion cfl's are good if your doing 1 or 2 plants, once you get up in plant numbers the number of bulbs you need to properly illuminate them makes cfl unrealistic and your much better off with LED or HID

you need the ballast reflector and blub i paid around 100 for mine good investment. but get ready for the heat. but i went from around a 8th per 2 weeks then 12/12 plant and went up to about an ounce and a quarter.also recommend a grow tent they are amazing i got a 4x2x5 for around 80 on ebay. don't worry though you don't have to get it all at once just work on it. this is a patient mans game but every thing comes with time

I already have a tent 24/24/64. Got the hid blasting at 250. No exhaust yet so I left the top part of the tent half open. Seems to be a little hot at the top for a while but plants already responding great. Exhaust next.

How is the exhaust supposed to be hooked up? I have a sun system 250/400 digital switchable. I see like a vent on top and one in front by the light. How do I set the exhaust up too this?
