Not to say i dont appreciate your advice man. When i first joined riu i religiously followed alot of your advice as far as growing. Im more talking about all the threads where newbs ask questions and they all the sudden get one of two ideas thrown at em.

Your either told to go small till you learn to grow (cfl), or your told to get a 1000 hps and grow flat in soil.

There is nothing wrong with either idea, but i think that this is the reason that more peeps dont grow rotary or vertical. The guys giving the best advice are saying grow flat. So we grow flat. Im going to spend 2000 because i think this thing might have potential once "dialed in" with the right strain.

BTW does anyone have any ideas of an ideal strain? Somthing i could maybe get at a dispensary in L.A..

I was thinking Ak 47 or some Orange Crush.

that's NOT 3 pounds off ONE 600 watt light.

stop making BS claims and i won't challenge them. :)

those are the third pics i've ever seen. 2 year old pics, but pics. we're getting closer.

still not 3 pounds. 1 and a half maybe. those are 1/2 ounce plants. and that looks like 2 lights.

i would love to own and grow out of one of these. but i need proof before i BLOW 2 grand. sorry.
There are two 1000 watts HPS and what your looking at is not 1 1/2 lbs but 4 lbs/wheel. You do the math these wheels pay for themselves off after the first cultivation so bash them all you want you can't argue with those numbers.

Sorry for going a bit off topic maximus I just didn't want to read another good thread gone bad from misinformation.

Thank you Maximus!!!! Very glad you have been able to get another round going, and that you are posting pics in spite of the negativity! How many plants did you load this time? What strain? Also what nutes do you run?

Also proheto8008 seems like the ak could be a good strain if you had the indica pheno. I would have to think that smaller indicas would be the way to go with this system. I recently read about G-sus from reeferman seeds. It sounds like a danky little high resin pure indica. I would think something like that would work well.

Also if the center buds were starting to burn I would do two things. One supercrop any of the ones that were getting to tall, and I would consider getting better air flow through the cool tube, or colder air flow through it.

I want one soooo bad!

Awesome. It's nice to see some pics of whats going on.

Do you think you would get positive results from FIMing your plants right before flowering in this set-up?

60 plants this time.

I am using Botanicare's CNS (commercial nutrient system) 17 veg
formula and their flower formula as well. I used to use all Canna
nutrients but they are insanely expensive and weren't what I was
looking for. I felt that the Canna food emphasized red hair growth
and taste. Two things I don't care about very much. The CNS 17
(in my opinion) promotes size, resin, and hardness. On top of that
the CNS is 1/4 the price and it is a simple one part formula unlike
Canna. I keep the nutrient mixture light (800 PPM) for veg since
they are new to the Volksgarden at that point. In flower in the
first week I give them 1000 - 1200 ppms for the first week, after
that 1500.

i have seen these things work with strait sativas so it's all about budding early.

the pics with the buds getting burnt are not my pics.

i think one reason that they grew into the lamp may be because they are crowding each other which makes em go for the sky. if you get shut out in nature its game over for that plant so its a pretty strong drive

It stands for "fuck I missed". A grower meant to top his plant and ended up cutting the new growth coming out of the nodes on top. Instead of giving the two shoots below the cut strenght, you can give up to 4-8 shoots from what I understand. I know it's a lot less stressful to the plant then topping is but I don't know how long it takes to recover. Thats why I wonder if it would take to long to recover if you flipped after the cut.

hmmmmm well im not coming anywhere near the lamp so far and i like having the center buds. there is a product by dutch master i think that will stop your veging and turn it strait to flower without getting any taller, cant remember what its called though

Total cost to produce the volksgarden is $600.00 CND I have the cost breakdown as I used to produce them...... Too much markup for plastic junk

Is the wheel even custom made for this application or are they just chopping up a 250 gallon plastic water tank or something?

its all custom for the most part. the cylinder is one 4 foot diameter piece and its 24 inches deep. the tray is custom. the root cube holders are custom, that has to be an injection mold. they could have spend 100k on molds. all the metal parts must be custom fab, and its all powder coated so they havent dropped the ball anywhere as far as i am concerned. i know i couldnt do it for 2k never mind $600 and it has made me happy and much more productive and i have less work, so i dont care if the guy made it for 10 cents. i got 1/2 lb on the first go that i wasnt ready for, and it more then paid for itself right there, and it made me happy. i got a real buzz off of it and its only getting better.
