Fish tank water for feeding?

So for my most recent grow I have only watered with fish tank water and it's going pretty good! Has anyone else tried this? Did they have similar results?
absolutely!!
I had a 80 gal tank with big ole Oscars, and a 30" tire track eel, they shat a LOT, the Oscars ate big ole feeder goldfish and the tire track ate whole earthworms, I had a sand tank, planted with like 20 different plants, and all I did was "vacuum" the sand, and it'd be this funky tanish lookin water that was chock full of the fish poo, not to mention the bio-wheel filtration adds a BUNCH of microbial life too.
Bottom line is, clean your tank every ten days, and that'll keep them nice and green throughout, it's essentially a super light nitrogen tea (not technically, but for all intents and purposes)
Highly recommended... to the degree where if I had the space, i'd do a tank SOLEY for the water.. Seriously
I grew that way for about 11 yrs

holy crap man, three koi in a tiny 40 gal??
yeaaa I bet they shit it up good in there..
try valisneria, or anubias for your aquatic plants, that will brighten up the tank and clean up the water a bit.
Yeah I planned on having them in my 70gal but I need a stand that can support it, the koi are usually from my decorative pond in my yard just keeping them inside for the winter
