I will look into that lure because he likes bass fishing a lot.
They taste not too bad either.
The fishing vacation sounds wonderful but I don't fly. Too scared too. too many people etc. (nooooo)

BUT a fishing cabin vacation would be nice. (some place not too far away) I live in an area where there is umlimited fishing spots so i could look into this.

Gotta go make dinner.
Thanks Quad. good one.
nothing beats bass off topwater...

it's as close as I've ever been to heaven, hooking a nice striper or small mouth and watching em jump 3-4 feet in the air. my personal favorite lure is called the torpedo. they have different sizes and colors and are also pretty cheap, between 3 and 5 dollars each.

If it was me, It would just make me happy to see that you took some interest in it. why don't you look up fishing packages and vacation spots instead of buying him a couple good presents you and him could vacation somewhere this winter and go fishing together. I know personally my favorite thing about fishing is smoking a bowl with my wife and watching her get crazy after catching a fish.

Sanibel Island in florida, for example. probably wouldn't be too expensive. and Great offshore fishing in the gulf of mexico.

I'm a fisherman myself and having a pair of sunglasses helps a lot but not as much as having a pair of polarized sunglasses. Fisherman often use polarized glasses because they block out the glare from the water and makes it possible to see whats under the surface. This helps a lot while fishing and makes the trip more enjoyable. They can be strictly a pair for fishing only and if he keeps them with his fishing gear or in his tackle box its not as easy to lose them.

I have to thank all you guys for helping me out with the fishing gift for my man. The ideas you all came up with were awesome and so many that I have enough ideas for a few years now.

I have guy friends.

And I got some help with my computer from platinumkasses who gave me precise info that I needed without having to reformat.

I had my 'programmed files' hijacked of 48 GB but it was removed successfully. (A real learning experience):-|

Thanks again plat...:hug:you nailed that one right on!!! (incredible).

What with the lures that have eyes on the bottom?
Are they supposed to represent dead or ill fish?:-?

So Fdd. Why are the eyes on the bottom?

cause that's where they put them.

it's a top-water lure. you twitch it on the surface. it dives, jumps, twists and sputters. looks like a dieing bait fish. big fish go nuts on them. huge splash.........hang-on.
