Florida's First Black Medical Marijuana License Recipient Will Have to Pay for the Privilege

Last week, five years after Floridians voted to legalize medical marijuana in 2016, state officials announced an "emergency rule" that sets aside one medical marijuana license specifically for a Black farmer.

Only one licience is open for "A" Black farmer, and it will cost them mucho Amerio's

For nearly five years, eligible Black farmers in Florida waited for the state to announce the application process for the Pigford Class — only to learn last week that will cost them $146,000 apiece to throw their hat into the ring.

As Fried pointed out on social media, that sum is more than twice the approximately $60,000 the initial round of applicants paid to vie for the 22 original licenses, according to attorney Dustin Robinson, founder of the Fort Lauderdale-based firm Mr. Cannabis Law.

State officials have not yet set a date for the process to get underway.
I'm in NW Florida and have a friend in the tropical plant greenhouse business. His company ships all over the world. They looked into growing medical and it would have cost them over a million bucks to get started. He's about 65 years old and said it was just too much capital for him to risk so late in life.

Also what is with all the Russian money flowing into the industry down there?

Im all for foreign investment, but not to take over emerging industries in our own nation when that country is currently attacking our democracy.

No decoration. I do need to cut the grass. I'm kind of stretched thin, and the grass isn't always mowed. It's not really tall now as the rainy season is over, but there are a few weeds. Night before last when I was heading out on my nightly walk I noticed someone had used a string trimmer around the graves. Mamma's best friend has paid a kid to do it in the past, so I assume it was her again.

Also no on Uncle Bobby's ashes. His son has to request the headstone from the VA, and we just haven't got around to doing it yet. So for now, he is still here at the house.

Um , like dead body Uncle Bobby is still in the house? He must smell pretty bad at this point or do you keep him in the extra freezer. Very strange.

I love all the post-trump anarchy talk. They're not trumpers and the election wasn't stolen and the timing with their newfound anarchy desires is just a coincidence. Oh, and they definitely don't want anarchy as a means of providing a mechanism for themselves in the future to overturn an election result they dislike. No, definitely not that.

Buncha pieces of shit.

Anarchy simply means ‘without rulers’. No descending involved.

don’t need to see anything

They can move to Somalia if they want anarchy. Plenty of that going on over there. They can even be pirates.

that would be a contradiction. Words have nothing to do with what something is. Buzzy or not

His ashes. He's been dead a couple three years, so my memory might be off a little, but they were in a heavy ziplock bag in a cardboard box.

I do have a couple of the plastic ash containers. Someone had scattered two people's ashes and left the containers in the trash at a trailhead. I washed them out good and use them for storage at my camp.
