Florweing time

There are people growing photos with 12/12 lighting from day one. The resulting plants are just little buds on a stick.

Is it possible to put a plant into flowering to early? Will it hurt it?
There used to be a train of thought that argued the plant should be mature before flower. That maturity us indicated by alternating nodes in new growth. Not sure it makes any difference though

a plant cannot flower until its reached sexual maturity (staggered nodes). Most the people who run 12/12 do so from rooted clone so its a mature plant.

It will hurt yield for sure, how much will depend on the strain. If going from bought seed that gets expensive, If growing from clones it is a different story. Flowering early is mainly done by those doing a SOG grow with clones where they are often put straight into flower which is what I am currently trying, some veg for 1-3 weeks though. I have seen journals of people doing 12/12 from seed and getting results but unless your seed is free this dose not make much sense to me, but people have their reasons.
