Flowering and noise Question

Hey Guys,

Ive been vegging under florescent lights how a few weeks now, and have decided to switch to 12/12 to start flowering/sexing. Do I need to change my light source to my HPS light or can i still let them sit under the florescent. I plan on giving them 36 hours dark before starting this but im not sure which light to use. Also i have a carbon filter that blows directly onto the bulb to keep the temperature down. I have no good way to vent the room with ducts so its my best temperature control as of right now. then I cover the top of the fan that blows the air out it still pushes air but significantly lessens noise. Is this a safe method? Is there a better way to quiet it down? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

any input?
My plans for noise/fan issues is to pickup a sheet of OSB board for about $8
Then a few 2x4's at about $2.50 a piece
Should only need 2 pieces
So for under $15 I plan to build a box, like a sub box for your car almost put the fan inside of there, run 2 duct holes and have the input/output all out of the same box, then you can foam/seal the box. From what I've seen the fans don't run too hot, so i doubt that'll be an issue, and the box will have open air so it'll cool anyways.

And it'll look nice :)

You can really flower/veg under any style light, just some are better than others. I'm flowering a native strain of Jack Herer and they seemed to grow twice the size with HPS over the floros
