flowering clones question

i had a plant that was dying during the 3rd week of flowering. They had a lot of small buds on them. I grew them using hydroton and hydroponics , in a flood and drain setup. Anyway, one of my plants was dying, so i took a bunch of clones off the plant and put them in my cloner. After rooting them , I had great results with that. Most of the time, I have seen this done to regrow the plant and put it back into its vegative state with the lights set at 24 hrs per day on. Then when the plant starts to regrow leaves in the vegative state you can reflower the plant by changing the lights back to 12 on and 12 off. Anyway, what I was wondering was if I plant the clones and keep them under the lights at 12 on and 12 off , will the plant continue to grow buds? I was wondering if anyone had tryed this before and what was the result? So far the little clones are rooting fine and the little bubs are getting real frosty. It has been 5 days since I planted the clones and they are doing quite well. At the present time I have the lights set at 12 on and 12 off. the plant had already matured so unless you get it to completely reveg(4-6weeks) it will continue on from the point at which it was cut and it will not grow much or produce much

I agree with ss. If you keep the light cycle on anything other than 24 hours before those buds turn Brown (which is what happens after the plants reverts to veg in about a month) the buds will probably start forming again and you will end up with a plant with weird growth coming from inside the buds that are also trying to form into mature buds, I don't know if that will cause plant stress and herm out or not but it wouldn't produce anything you would want to use as far as bud goes in my opinion. Leave them in 24 hour light for a few weeks, once the little shoots start popping out of the bud structure you can cut back to 16 or 18 hours of light if you want.
