Flowering Day 5: Satori, Chrystal HPS

One other thing,..... the Chrystal plants look GREAT. Those are good looking bud sites! what is the flowering period on those plants? I know mandala suggests 9 to 11 weeks for Satori. I like growing Satori, but i need something that matures a bit faster when in flower.

The Satori clones really haven't bounced back. The Chrystal clones are solid though. I need to keep a Satori mother alive for summer time. They supposedly do really well under high heat conditions, and I don't want to risk losing crop due to heat on the Chrystal. The more indica-like Satori has proven to clone pretty well, but it's production seems much lower, so I'm hesitant to use it as a mother. I'm running a 400W but thinking about adding a 600W and doing an Al B. Fuct setup. No CO2, just water, nutes, lots of air circulation (114cfm for a 2.5x3x5 space + a 10inch fan on 24/7) and love! The Chrystal are supposed to mature in 8-10 weeks. I'm thinking about harvesting at eight though because I hear that gives you a more energetic high and less couch-lock. I really don't like the stoned feeling, really prefer something more social. I'll throw some pics up in the next 20 minutes as they just woke up. Update your thread with some close-ups Yak, I really want to see what your bud production looks like in hydro as compared to soil. I may be making the switch!

Here they are. I covered the bottoms yesterday to try and reflect back some light, but they don't seem to like it as they're starting to droop. I'm thinking it's the lack of O2 cuz of the covered soil... Any thoughts on this?

imo uncover those pots you don't want to risk mold this late in flower:peace:

I did uncover them, but only because they seemed to wilt overnight with no other cause besides the lids... Maybe the decreased air circulation was choking the roots? No idea, but they're off and doing better! TY for the advice, much appreciated!

This is the Chrystal after 54 days flowering. Trichs are all milky with a small portion turning amber. Two more Chrystal to harvest, 3 Satori. Here are the pics. Any guesses on dry yield off this one plant?

Great Job. Did you build that dryer box? If so do tell how?

I originally bought a scrubber w/fan off of ebay. While on there I noticed that people were selling for "Herb dryers" for like $180+. So I got the scrubber with fan for $50, bought a rubbermaid tote (27 gallon), a roll of screen material, some 1/2" pvc pipe w/elbows and set to work. I measured out the needed size for scrubber w/fan and cut out out. I punched small holes to attach the fan to the plastic of the container and then to the scrubber. I then made a rectangular frame out of pvc pipe that just barely fit into the bottom of the container, then duct-taped screen to it's edges (as you saw in the previous pics). I did this two more times, making screens about 10" by 18". Each screen is slightly bigger than the last, that way they just wedge down in there with about 2" of clearance in between each one, plus I don't need to put up any pieces to hold the frames in place. My last harvest has been in there for 3 days now and the smaller buds are pretty close to being dry. I'm guessing 5-6 days total to dry the whole lot. As soon as this batch is dry, I'm harvesting two more plants and they're going in to the dryer next. I'll post pics of the dryer when I get the chance, so you have a better idea of what it looks like. Thanks for your interest FS!
