flowering in 3 gallon pots. What size pots for veg? What size tent?

I'm flowering 8 3 gallon pots in a 4x4 flower tent.

I haven't purchased my veg tent yet. My thinking is:

4x2 tent.
8 1 gallon pots.

My thinking is going larger than 8 1 gallons probably wouldn't fit in the tent, but I don't want to restrict growth either.

What should I do? Thanks.

With a six week veg from seed in my 4x4 with 4 plants in 3 gal pots of coco 4 way lst I pull5-6oz per plant and it’s tight.....like if I let them go 1 more week before flip I’d have to kill some off to prevent mold
Thanks to both of you. Buddernugs, what size veg tent do you use to achieve these results? Do you put them in 1 gallon pots? Thank you!

I would cut that plant number to 4 honestly bro 6 weeks veg from seed is the max I’d go regardless of strain they will look to small to fill that 4x4 up but trust me bro they will
Agreed wholeheartedly. Trying to just fit 6 3 gallon pots with plants in mainline is turning out to be a PITA in my 4x4. I'd rather grow fewer and bigger... especially with the cost of seeds/clones.

The only reason I'd go with 8 tiny plants over 3-4 large ones is if I needed to crank out a run in less time and didn't want to veg for that long.

Here's another example- these were only vegged 4 weeks (from clone) which is about 6-8 weeks veg from seed in comparison. I ran out of horizontal space quick and had to just stop training/let them grow upwards.

Wow this is interesting and kind of screwed up my entire plan lol.

My plan was centered around an 8 week veg. My thinking is why the hell not? I can't use the flower tent until the previous crop is done (gonna run 60 day flower strains) anyway so I may as well maximize my veg time. It seems this invariably cause the plants to be too tall for my 6.5 tent.

I guess the realistic solution is run 4 plants in 3 gallon pots (in a 4x4 flower tent, 4x2 veg tent) for 4-6 weeks max?

Personally? Repurpose your veg tent for drying. So veg for 6 weeks then flip to flower after harvest....1-2 weeks drying in veg tent then start the next round.

This is so smart. I've never dried cannabis before. I expect yields of 1-1.5 pounds. Would that cramp a 4x2 veg tent with the plants inside or does drying not take up too much room? Thanks and I promise this is my last question (for the night lol).

Oh I wouldn’t veg in there at that time.

so flowering takes 8 weeks

So veg for 6 and then move those plants to the flowering tent after harvest

Once they are in the flowering tent trim your buds and hang them in the veg tent for up to two weeks

once they are dry start your next 6 week veg.
