Flowering? Isn't it a little early?

Hey everyone -

I've been posting in my grow journal till today, but I seldomly get anyfeedback there or in outdoor, so I'm going to try here (and I'll update my journal).

I am a chick, growing in a greenhouse, in the South-Central US, where it has been pretty damn hot and humid the last week - until we got some rain in the last 24 hours. A few days ago, I had to cover the greenhouse as it was getting up to 115 degrees! The plants didn't seem to care much - a little misting and fan air and they were happy. I have plants in soil; 4 in an Earthbox, 3 in pots. One of the 3 is a mutant with 3 of everything (nope, it hasn't grown out of that yet!). They are all bagseed, not sure what the plants are. I had a bad thrip attack and most of the plants that were older ended up surviving. I think I lost 3 completely, but the others are coming back at varying degrees (I am worried about hermi-fying from the stress of the thrip attack.)

Here's the thing. Today one of the potted 3 looks like it's starting to flower...is that possible at this stage? It's got all these little squirley hairs coming out of it. I'm a little confused about how long things take "outdoors" and it seems early to me. I was having a hard time trying to get any decent close ups, but here's some photos of it:

Here's same thing zoomed out. (The flash bleached out the green color - the plant is a lovely tree frog kelly green. The specs are some potting soil that fell on the plant - whoops!)

Another view.

So here are my questions -

Is it flowering or are those preflowers?
These were all planted in soil about the last week of March. When should they start to preflower and show sex and does it have anything to do with getting to the 7 leaf fan stage?
I thought they were supposed to start to flower after the solstice in June when the days get long. Is that incorrect?

Someone set me straight! And if you think I'm doin a good job on my first (bagseed) grow, I'd love some reputation! *yummy!*

:leaf: :peace:

join the club....... lots of people this year have had this happen to them......

I can't quite tell if those are pre-flowers, or if it's actually flowering, give it a few days or a week and check on it again.

looks like preflowers to me, a lot of strains sex pretty early, I wouldn't start to worry yet.
