Hard to tell, some strains can go for 70-90+ days if it is a heavy sativa. Unless you have a strain and environment that you are familiar with you cannot go by a calendar. If you look at the buds and most of the pistils have receded into the bud and the calyx have swollen then you should be close to harvest. If you have some sort of magnification(like a cheap jewelers loupe) you can look at the trichomes (they are the little crystals that form on the bud) you are looking harvest when a vast majority of them are cloudy not clear.

Take a look in the harvesting a curing section, lots of great threads on the subject. If you want you can post up some photos here and people may be able to give you an idea if you are getting close.

If you are only 40ish days into flower you still have at least 3 weeks to go. I dont care have type of strain you have growing nothing finishes in under 50 days of flower time. Fastest one I have ever done so far is Blue Dream and that is a 60-65 day flower. Post up pics of your buds good pics so we can see the trichs.

My Blueberries take 65-70 days and I cut the nutes off at around day 55. I run 2 gallons of water through them and give them plain water for the last 10-14 days. This has been working well for me. I have a cheapie my-first-microscope, and let me tell you, this thing is awesome! I use it almost every day for something grow-related. Ahhh the wonderful world of trichomes!

Mixing up a weeks worth of nutes is a bad idea. You need to use nute water within the same day. If you let is sit it will get nasty and smell weird like it is going bad or fermenting. I will feed nutes all the way up til the last week before harvest but in that last week I slowly reduce the nutes and the final week is all PH'd water and 1 Clearex flush.

intenseneal, I can think of about 4 strains off the top of my head that finish with in 50/55 days!

Flushin is fuckin pointless it dosent affect the taste what so ever I've done a side by side and they where identical apart from the flushed one was screaming for nutes. You've all been brain washed by the companys that sell flushing liquids and all that shit

You will always hear mixed responses to flushing.. some say flush, some say full steam ahead till harvest.
Experiment and see for yourself, if you actually notice a difference or you notice the curing process is the difference, just experiment ;)

My advice for 'flushing' would be to simply start dropping the strength back gradually on your nutes 3-4 weeks before you are due to harvest. Your plants if you can read them should be telling you this anyway ;)

By doing this, you are still giving the plants essential nutrients to finish their flowering cycle, though at the same time slowly reducing any salt buildup that may have accumulated throughout the grow.

So in a way, you get the best of both worlds ;)

Estimated breeder finishing times do not really apply as there are so many variables other than strain phenotype as to when the plant will be at it's peak THC. Using a jewelers loupe is the easiest and most accurate way.

If you are unsure what to look for, consult the sticky's in 'Harvest and Curing' chat on this forum ;)

Cheers Jimmy.

I dont flush for the plant or taste it is to get the built up salts out of the soil.
^ This is the only reason to do any kind of "flush" Which will only apply to soil grows, hydroponic flushing is completely and utterly useless. Even so, flushing to get salt build up out IMO should only be done if you notice a deficiency.

mr2shim, tottaly agree

In my 5 years of growing I have never flushed never had any problems with my weed and I've have 20year vets saying my stuff is perfect
I don't even PH anything and to this day I have never had a problem with anything during my grow

To the OP the best advice I can ever give you mate never take anyones advice as LAW! There is so many bone heads on here
play with ur grow experiment and most of all take NOTES!!! You will find ur own ways to grow and will find your rythem

Good luck

shim...do you reduce your nutes (hydro) for the last two weeks, or full blast to the end?

I haven't pH'd my water in years. Hell I don't even have a pH meter. I used to use all of that stuff when I was just starting off but I've since realized I don't need it. Nor do I need RO water or Distilled or w/e. I use straight from the tap, non pH'd water from start to finish. *However if you have a high ppm in your tap I would advise against using it. My tap is ~170ppm

Depends really. Last grow I ran full nutrients until the end, grow before that I backed off a little bit only because I started to notice some nute burn.

I was kinda thinking the same but I'm a beginner and I've read and heard a lot about flushing. Is it really pointless?
Like I said in a previous post, flushing IMO should only be for flushing(dumping gallons of water in your soil) out salt build up in the soil which can/will cause nutrient lockout.
