Flowering Time...

It may be that I am doing something wrong here... I have never, ever had a plant that was ready to harvest at 8 weeks. Even if I started counting my 8 weeks when the first pistils shot out instead of when I change to 12/12, I still can't finish in 8 weeks. Even when growing pure indicas I still can't finish in 8 weeks. I have been told that I may be able to shave my flowering time down by a week or maybe even 2 by switching to hydro. I don't really know... I just know that I never harvest anything until at least 68 days, my sativas generally do about 80.

I would love to know if this is typical among you all...

?? Are you expecting it to be 8 weeks? Flowering time for weed can be 7-14 weeks depending on the strain. C02, and ideal conditions can lower flowering time but its really the strain that determines if its gonna be short or long. There is no rule that says pot flowers and is suddenly done at exactly 8 weeks into flowering.

The whole 8 week thing is just something I always hear from other growers, and seed companies. I just wonder if the people who harvest at 8-9 weeks have fully ripe flowers. I like to let my ladies finish up.

I guess my point is simply that I'm usually over 10 weeks regardless of strain.

no pics of my setup. But I am just about to harvest. I may start a journal for my next grow. Super Haze and Jack 33 from CH9 feminized seeds. Got them from Gypsy Nirvana. WoooHooo!! Can't wait to plant them!

I dont know anyone who harvest strictly on time. I ALWAYS harvest by look, when it LOOKS done its done.

Heres a good example that was used to be in the GrowFAQ, both are the same plant, when you see them side by side you can see how the resin glands start to swell, the buds start to develop a nice almost golden tinge, and almost seem glossy with all the resin covering the buds...*drool*
