how can i flush my system if i dont have a flusher my bud said i can use water n espom salt but thats alot magneseum does that sound right?and how long should i apply for it a ebb n flow 15pot 30gal water anyone please help?

i was under the impression that putting in lots and lots of ph adjusted water was known as a flush.
it is done to get RID of salt build ups, wastes, and any unused nutes in the plants/reservoir.

and properly rationed Epsom salt is usually a nute....

I'm not sure I understand your question.

yea ive heard the same thing lots of ph ajusted water recyclen over and over for 24hrs but what im askin is if i can flush just by using water and Epsom salt would that work or would it just get magnesium burn or intoxication

if i where you i would flush the res with h202 like i said in your other thread i would also mix your epsom salt at 1 tsp in a gallon of water and give them all a good foliar feeding with a spray bottle this will prably fix them for now but you need to think about why you are having this problem in the first place i would look into getting some calmag off the internet and add religiously with your nutes when problem is fixed i run flora nova with tap water h202 every 4 days for years and never have had to use calmag. epsom salt is hydrated magnesium sulfate so it will cure a mg def but if its bad enough stopping nutes and adding to foliage will work faster taking it in through the stomatas (pores on the leaves) rather than having to work its way up the roots and up the plant. i would also spray a couple of large fan leaves on each plant and wait 2 days if the leaves look worse drop back strength by 50% so 1/2 tsp per gallon and use that but 1 tsp in a gallon should be ok for you.

To flush, just fill your reservoir with water. No nutes.

The point of flushing is to get your plants to use up all the food reserves stored in their fan leaves, etc.

You don't need to pH the water when you flush. pH is only useful for nutrient uptake. Since the idea of flushing is to STOP feeding the plants nutrients (and since you're not adding any, anyways) you do not need to pH the water.

Before changing your res, I suggest you pour water over the ydroton pots. This will flush out any salts that may be hiding in there. When dump your res and fill it with water.

I usually flush a week or two before harvesting.
