I have a question, can I take my plants into the bathroom when its time to flush and use the shower head, also what temperature should the water be at when you are flushing .

Thanks

I am not saying whether or not one should for max benefit or whatever. But I am in the last weeks of a grow using dyna-gro so non organic, salt based, etc and have not flushed once. Every other feed is water only until a tiny runoff. But no massive flush and plants have had no probs. It is not a must and IMHO only to be done if you see nute defs when you know plants have had what they need.

I do use Drip Clean in all water which is supposed to be help with salt build up so maybe that is why. But then I would rec getting a bottle of it (.4ml per gal is all) rather than drowning my babies.

is amust so you dont get nutes locked out. salts will build up
Are you saying flushing is a must ? If so, please do not say that again. It's not a must. IMO it's a feel good process to make yourself feel better. You never flush any other type of plant material. Why cannabis ? Like dj said no need for another debate there has been plenty. Use the search. Flush toilets not cannabis plants. To the op if your still set on flushing then I don't see why not. And use room temp water when doing so. Hope it helps good luck. Like I said this is my opinion many others will tell you otherwise. And to that I say do research and be careful what you listen to.

Why do all you people like turning your leafs yellow the last two weeks? I see so many pictures of buds on RIU with dying, yellow, brown leafs all around it. I think it all starts with this flushing idea and or the 'stop giving them nute' . so freaking weird. your marijuana plants would think you hate them if they could have thoughts

^^^^^^^ Second that. I don't understand. Leaves produces Bud. More leaves = More bud. Green leaves are healthy. Yellow are dying and necrotic. Why let them yellow. Cause i want to use " Bud Candy" to get bigger buds. And yes that right there does not make sense and you see it everyday on here. Who said its normal for them to yellow!!!!!! Keep Them Green.

If you choose to flush, do not use the shower head. You dont want to get your buds wet, nor do you want to damage trichomes.
If you choose to flush, just water the soil over and over until you have gone through 3-4 gallons of fresh water.

When I flush, the drainage comes out a rusty brown, by the end it is coming out mostly clear.

Flushing a plant = Running what thru your medium, typically 2 to 3 times the volume of your container in order to clean salt build up and or unwanted pests in your medium.

What i believe that you are trying to do is = during the last week, 2 weeks MAX is feeding your plants water ONLY. Water as usual (until you have a bit of run off), following your regular schedule. This will rid your medium of any mild build up and eliminate the possibility of any possible "chemical" tastes in your finished product (which could also be fixed with a proper cure, but that lesson is for another day boys and girls).

Haha. I love hearing that age old grow tip. "Flush with 2-3 times the volume of the pot". Guess people who say that never grow in anything large. I grow in 20gal pots and you would have to hold a gun to my head for me to run 40-60gals of water through one pot for a "flush". Just water like you would normally but with clean ph'd water.

are you serious ? Lol
that's not flushing lol
when you flush you do not wash the dirt you just stop feeding the plant nutes for at least 5 days
you want the nute taste goes out from the buds not the soil

IDK if that was directed at me, but If you read the 2nd part of my statement, you would know what I am talking about then. The first portion is EXTREME circumstances ONLY. I have only had to do that once like 5 years ago and that was due to fungus gnats. Ran some shit in my soil to kill the larvae and had to really clean that nasty smelling shit out a few days later
