I just harvested a branch early off my plant, no flush. Smoked it for the first time last night NO CURE AT ALL for a test, the weed I buy off the street is harsher than it... it also had white ash just like any other weed.

Taste was a bit off but that's probly cuz I quick dried in a dehydrator and no cure
That's cool, your first harvest?

Yes! I guess I went down to 25% nutes right before, but only a couple waterings with gradually lowering to 25% from full strength so it's not even near a full flush.

Seems to have worked on the test run. Though I don't have flushed to compare to I guess.

Very nice, hows the weather out there? Not too bad?
Oh man, Vegas is 80 one day and still, windy and perfect the next day, cold and windy the next day and then it warms back up and a firey hell for three months come April/June. We had to insulate the garage and buy a 14,000 BTU unit to be able to grow ha. And during the winter it's 30-40* here with some days getting into the lower 50s.

If you love the outdoors though man. Vegas is the place to be. But I enjoy the extremes so the weather is great to answer your question.

I live in Colorado, the weather is horrible here, we are having a blizzard right now.

Isn't it too hot in the summertime for strenuous, longterm physical activities like hiking and distance biking? Man, I can't imagine a 10-mile hike in 120 Fahrenheit temps.

Nutrient leaching = feed/water/water/feed/water/water or water only a week prior to chop.
-No loss of weight
-No overnight fade
-No o2 deprived roots
-faster ripening fruit/herb

Flushing = completely saturation the medium in 3x the water.
-Roots deprived of 02 and pH sits still (soil) for a while
-Plant will consume more of its own energy to eat off itself
-Cure gets kick started
-Any toxic salt levels will be cleared from the medium

Basically, if you dont go NPKrazy then you wouldn't need a flush. And if i understand the biology good enough, then that goes for hydro too.

I was very skeptical of not flushing at first but after talking to Dr. Who about it (5-6 months ago or so) i decided to just take his advice and try it. Man did I ever see a huge difference in yield, just because people who do well growing (commerical cannabis cup ect) doesn't mean that they are doing it correctly. Since i stopped flushing i've been getting about 35-40% more per harvest than before while that could have nothing to do with it i'd say it does.

Sigh, one last time politely.

The science behind your theory of flush for taste and burn is not real. It has NO basis in plant physiology/Botany!
"Logic" does not trump science.
Cups ARE won by non-flushed crops! They have been properly cured!!!!
Just because someone has commercial grows does not mean their right!
Those who write books on growing ,,,, are writers - Jorge is wrong on other things too! Ed Rosenthal does NOT teach flushing (anymore)...

Just take a plant and don't flush it - just one! Cure it the RIGHT way!!! 2 months!

Now then, If flushing is what you feel you need to do? Well then, do whats working for you!
BUT
Your fighting over what you believe is EXACTLY the same "bad" you accuse us science believers of!

Have a green day folks

I'm growing 3 night queen and 1 LSD 25 auto fems this next grow. I won't defoliate or flush and they'll be in the same tent the whole time instead of being moved three different times: ladder, make shift tent to where they sit now.
And this will be your best indicator. Like I said on another thread we can read books and pick up a lot, but theres nothing like doing it yourself firsthand and then you know for sure what works and what doesn't, or what is needed and what is not. I don't believe everything I read. But I do believe most of what I see for myself.
Happy Growing ! Post some pics of the journey.

Already tried that, if you use salt fertilizers you should flush annnddd I went to the cannabis cup the last 2 years, andddd it's pretty much a popularity contest, I don't take any stock from the cup winners last year I was smoking better home grown than 99.999% of the people at the cup.

But what about irritants in the non-organic compounds? The bleach on toilet paper when I wipe my ass once absorbed makes my bladder hurt like hell. I'm just trying to clean up my product for medical reasons. Damn two more months! That takes some serious effort when paying $3000+ a pound an smoking an ounce every week to a week and a half. If I didn't have my RSO oil I'd be in trouble with pain. Thanks for the write up Who.

Jesus, man, I feel for you. I know someone with similar sensitivities, and it's no fucking walk in the park at all. In light of that, I totally understand why you'd rather be safe than sorry and flush 'em thoroughly. Forgive me if I sounded dismissive earlier.

I still say, though, that I don't believe there will be any difference in your product. However, if the only benefit is that it makes a difference in your peace of mind, go for it. No shame in that at all; when you have issues like that, every single time something itches or feels a little bit wrong, you can't help second-guessing every single thing you've eaten, drank, or smoked for the last few days. And who needs that stress? I wish you the best with your grow.

Oh, and you might want to get a bottle of 30% hydrogen peroxide for your grow room. In case you need to disinfect anything, it might be better for your situation than bleach. Bleach can leave a residue, but hydrogen peroxide just degrades into water and oxygen.

Good luck to you; I hope it all works out great!

That hydrogen peroxide is the best. Its all good man. I was talking to my wife about doing three plants. One without flush, one with one week of flush and one with the flushing nutes and sending the buds to SC Labs or a similar lab here on Nevada and we can end the bud purity myths once and for all! I wonder if you could call them and get overall reports on the ferts/chemicals found in the buds still.

Here are some pictures with the lights off. Three different unknown strains pictures of random buds. One cola shot. I burnt my leaf tips a little bit.
