Flushing

So, everywhere I read. When you flush a plant, you should flush it w/ pH corrected water.

If I'm cultivating in a drip hydro system, DWC/Fogoponics, or aeroponic mister system.

What pH should I use for each system? I hear a pH of 5.5 is best in hydro systems, is that true and does that extend to all of these other growing systems?

Currently I have access to 6.5 pH filtered water, can I work with that w/o the use of pH Down?

Any advice would help, seems that my girl is suffering from nute lockup so I would prefer to flush her sooner rather than later, but I don't want her to die because I acted too quickly.

ps My pH kit is currently in the mail, about 5 days away.

I agree if you need a quick and cheap ph down lemon, lime, or orange juice will do the trick.. just remember to not add too much!

squirt lemon juice (those little yellow bottle for drinks) for ph down... natural and it works fine. Mix per gallon at a time and then pour into the rez.

Good luck bud

The lemon and lime juice would be okay for flushing?

I hear that it doesn't stabilize the water for more than a day or 2, I guess it wouldn't matter seeing as the water wouldn't be sitting in my res for more than a few minutes.

-OR-

Would I leave the water in there a couple of days to deal with the nute block in my lady?

OK so before we go any further?... You dont have a hp pen do you?

And to answere your question... in hydro (and from the sound of it looks like a dwc system) you just fill the rez with clean ph's water for the last 2 weeks or so... also .. if you have the 14$ ... go get this advanced nutrients products called Final phase.. i noticed a diference in taste in my grows. good luck...

If you dont... go get one.. I cant beleave your growing without one, thats like riding a bike without handlebars.... You can do it.. but i hope you dont hit a bump!

If you do... then come on dude... just check the rez water every few days (like you should be doing anyway) and make sure that the ph holds... why would organic lemon juice be bad for your pot or anything?

I'm still trying to figure out the ph water flush. if you have ph lock out your ph is high in your rez just get your rez water to the right ph. when you flush soil it is to get rid of builp up in the soil. I guess what I"m trying to say is you can't fix a ph problem in hydro by "flushing" with the proper ph water.

I'm trying to fix the nute lockup by flushing. -- I think its nute lockup because her growth isn't as fast as I assumed it would be.

I have a pH aquarium testing kit (I don't have the pH Up/Down for aquariums I heard it was bad for the plant) which gives me an idea on where I am. My next kit I was looking at getting was the GH pH tester kit as seen here:

http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/ph-control-kit-p-272.html

I started this thread to figure out what pH my water should be at (in general) anyways. I hear for hydro systems its 6, is this right? (The water I was using was filtered faucet water, w/ a pH of 7. I intended to use lemon juice to pH that down to 6 and flush with that water but I heard that lemon juice only works for a few days and then the pH goes back to what it was)

Since then I got a hold of some distilled pH 6 water, which is what I was going to use to flush my lady of some nutes that I believe is stunting her growth.

-SO-

When I do flush, I just fill the res with fresh clean pH-ed water and let it recirculate for a few days?
