Not in it's entirety. If you had read my post instead of just attacking me you would have seen that although I agree with some of the social issues, I totally disagree with the form of governence. The communist party as in effect in most countrys today, (Cuba ,China, Russia, etc) is not my idea of a proper govt. The social standards that apply to the citizens, minus the Govt. control, is more in line with my thinking. I guess if you have to label me you might say I'm a liberal socialist. Sharing the wealth while retaining the individual freedoms. That is not communism! I am probably as content with liberalism (retaining freedom) as anyone on this site. I just believe in a more even way of wealth sharing! Ie. a strong middle class, the backbone of a free society!

Well, I would comment on your last post here, and by the way, I think it is one of your best so far but I've elected to just ignore you. BUT ... if I DID make a comment it would be in the form of a question and I know how you just hate to answer questions. But if I DID ask it, it would be ...

How would you apply those standards without using force? I mean, if government is to apply certain standards for the citizens to abide by, how would that be done without government control? And wouldn't the application of even more standards require even more government control? I've never seen government give up power once its aquired, have you? Seems to me that government just keeps ratcheting up power upon more power.

The only way forward is for the power to have more control over the people, which is happening now, CCTV, I.D. cards etc. Also, the only way forward for the common man to reach Godhood is a liberalised government.

If you go left or right of center then the only way forward is control. We need balance if we are to survive (as doobie said) without destroying ourselves. Our future is a glorious one. I envision a future world or worlds where mankind is striving to attain the same goal. Not only are we evolving but the very space around us is too, still growing and learning. We need to forget all the caveman bullshit, praying to the sun and suchlike, and start thinking about the future of Mankind. To waste our time hoping that eveything is going to turn out okay is ridiculous, we need to get 'our heads on' now.

We have evolved into a marvelous species, we have great minds capable of imagining great goals and achieving them. If we let ourselves be driven by our imagination and intellect rather than the reptilian part of our brain (Food, Sex, Following leaders blindly etc.) then we have a great future ahead of us.

This is the hope of all Utopians, Med. In the face of the continued failure of welfare state after welfare state, and in the face of totalitarians like Hitler, Stalin and Mao slaughtering millions of their citizens in an attempt to build their Utopias, there still are those who "know" that if only THEY had control, the outcome would be different. I like to hope that one day we will live in a utopian society.
However at this time it's not practical. Vi was right when he said you cannot eliminate human nature. That is why every communist, socialist, and totalitarian government is a failure.

For example when Med proposed the idea of wealth distribution, the
"idea" itself is good. A society where people who have allot, give to people who don't, would indeed be a great society. However each person has to make that decision for himself (of their own free will). You can not have a government that forces people to be generous and giving.

Legalisation of certain crimes is the only way forward. My idea is that all illegal drugs be legalised and freely available to take as much as you want. Even heroin and crack, even that other shit that you guys like in the U.S. the methamphetamine. Free to take as much as you like. Crack heads would not have to go out commiting crime to fund their habits and neither would anybody else.

Only when they are legal and freely available will we truly have the choice in how we lead our lives. The romanticism surrounding drug taking will be gone, and it'll be easier for us, eventually, to say no to taking them. The crime rate would fall so much as to all but disappear. Drugs are the key to this Society's future, Utopia is just around the corner.

The largest lobbying group opposed to California's Prop.215 (Medical MJ) was the Callifornia Correctional Guard's Union.

There are only two groups profiting from illegal drugs; Those working in the criminal justice system and the drug dealers.

Take the profit out of drugs by legalizing them and drug dealers no longer sell it and organized crime is out of the picture and the criminal justice system would have to focus on real crimes.

It is a known fact that the DEA is one of the few branches of government that doesn't answer to the General Accounting Office. They spend billions of dollars and are still ineffective.

If you guys want to see something scary, check your local phone book, look under federal agencies, and check out how many DEA offices are in operation in your state. How did that happen? Where did they get the power? Could the modern citizen's entitlement mentality have anything to do with it?
