?? FoxFarm Ocean & Cali Super Soil Advice ??

So this will be first time using the Cali Super Soil (1/4 bottom) and Fox Farm Ocean (3/4 top) layered.
I've been told by a few people that this combination has enough nutes that I won't have to add any extra throughout the entire grow..
Does anyone have any experience with the two that can confirm or deny this?
10 to 14 weeks seems like a long time to not add any extra but maybe I'm wrong..

Let me know what you're thinking.

Thanks in advance,
Chase.

You are basically running the same thing .

FFOF can be used as a “ super soil “ in bottom 1/3 of container with mild potting ( promix or HF ) as top soil.

BTW can be a water ( ph to 6.6 ) only grow for about 5 weeks ( give or take ) then incremental Top Dress of FFOF ( to recharge the medium as plant exhausts it. )

Using both together probably will torch some plants as FFOF is already nute dense.

You are certainly not re-inventing the wheel here but if a water only grow start to finish is the plan I suggest getting some worm castings which will prolong the life of any living soil mix. Use it as a top dressing or brewed in tea form but that will help avoid the need for too much else. Transplant as often as is necessary; don’t try to go the whole grow in one container. Personally I like using Jobes AP organic fertilizer spikes for bloom phase but that’s just how I roll.

Be careful planting straight into FFoF they can and will burn seedlings. I suggest looking up sub-cools super soil to get an idea of what you want to make. Like others said Earth Worm Castings aka EWC will help a ton. There’s many ways to build a soil I actually built mine the wrong way before I learned what subcools was!

I’m a noob like you I’m flattered

They are in plugs right now. Was going to go into clean soil in a cup next and then transfer to 5 gallon fabrics with FFOF when they are a bit bigger so that does avoid going straight Into the hot stuff when too young..

I'll check out EWC at the local hydro store.. :hump:
