Fresh off the plant, trimmed bubblegum hash. Wrong idea?

Chopped my girls down the other day. I'm pretty happy with the results! nothing spectacular about the yield, but i'm guessing some pretty decent gramage. Also, I used the Trimmings(sugar leaves), and threw them into a bucket with some ice to freeze them and made some nice frothy green hash water. I maybe got a little too excited, and before drying the trim out, I just threw them into the bucket. I've read good and bad things about that. I don't have any Ice-o-lator bags or anything fancy to help though. The bucket with all the strained water has been sitting for 2 days now. I made bubblegum hash before, and since I didn't have all the supplies I let the water sit for about 12 hours. All the good stuff dropped to the bottom and the water stayed on top. I syphoned the top part and boiled the bottom stuff until the yummy was all that was left.
The reason i'm saying that is because this time i've let the water sit for about 2 days now and nothing has dropped. The water is still as thick and green as before(The good stuff dropped last time). Should I just try and rolling boil this stuff, or maybe just pour the water through a coffee filter and take the yummies from that. Either way, Did I fudge up by using fresh trimmings instead of letting it dry? I put enough Ice in the bucket with the trimmings to freeze everything. Thanks for any help in advance

Maybe this is the wrong section to ask this question. Wasn't too sure where to post it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Pure gravity/ice water extraction is a perfectly valid way to make hash; some call this the "gumby" technique.

There is no need to boil anything; broken off trichrome heads are heavier than water and should sink to the bottom. Most everything else should float and be strainable off. I think dried is preferable, but it is OK to use wet/fresh leaf. Just adding ice to the water isn't enough; you also have to agitate the water vigorously to get the trichrome heads to break off the leaf. You didn't mention doing that this run, but its an absolutely critical step. There are lots of ways to do this, you can use an electric mixer, or even just stir vigorously by hand with a long spoon (but that's work).

Assuming you have agitated, after you've strained off the leaf, and you've let the water sit for at least several hours for the trichromes to settle down, then you can siphon off the top water, and collect the trichromes from the bottom water. Most people will siphon off most of the water from a large container, leaving the trichromes, suspend them by sloshing a bit, then pour into a secondary smaller container for the final separation. Once that's done, you siphon off the water again, then use a fan to dry out the sludge at the bottom for your hash.

If there are trichromes there, you'll seem them as a greenish (or ideally yellowish) sludge.

No green/yellow, no trichromes, no hash.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry it took so long to get back with ya. I agitated it up pretty good. sorry I forgot to mention that. It turned out pretty decent. Every time is a new learning experience. Read, read, read, but the best way to learn is by doing. It turned out into a pretty nice size ball. I'll give a taste test today after al that time drying :bigjoint:
