From seed to solo cup to 10 gal final container?

hey, all. I plan on starting some seeds here in a few days.

Indoors I always start with solo and transplant JUST one time from there.

For my outdoor grow, I’m aiming for a 2 month veg and up to 70 day flower (sowing Cannarado White Octane OG next week, finishing late October)

Will I be OK with just one up pot? From solo to final 10 gal?

And please, no “grow in 100 gal container” posts. 10 gal is my final container no questions asked.

I go from a solo cup to a 2 gallon pot to a 10 gallon grow bag. About a month in a solo cup and a month in a 2 gallon pot then they go into the 10gallon bag.
Some plants go straight from the solo cup to the 10 gallon grow bag. You won’t have issues except plants growing like crazy to fill out the pot lol

Wow, a month in a solo. Indoors I’ve only ever gone a max of 20 or so days

Seems like solo to final 10 gal is OK, given I don’t overwater the large excess space in the 10 gal?

Yeah. Thats what i did. With my gelato clones. They came freshly rooted, I acclimated them, and then straight to ten gallons.

From the time I put the seed into the cup to transplant, it takes ABOUT 20-30 days. Outdoors with supplemental lighting

Can you clarify?

20-30 days from solo to your 2 gal? Or 20-30 days for solo to 2 gal to 10 gal?

Are you waiting 20-30 days for ONE transplant, or do you do TWO transplants in that 30 day period?

Thx

It’s up to you and how fast your root system grows but yea I do 20-30 days in a solo cup then the same for 2 gallon pot. Then it either goes into the ground or a 10-25 gallon grow bag

With an estimated late October harvest, I don’t think I would need anything larger

I figure they pop from soil June 18th, veg until August 18, flower another two months

Also anything more than 10 gal and they get difficult to move

Do you think I need more than 10 gallons for just a two month veg? I don’t, but I’ve never grown outside.

If anything maybe 15 gal?

The more the better imo. Plants grow so fast and vigorous outdoors. I grew in 25 gallons my first legal season and it ended up being a huge pain in the ass once they became root bound. Tough to keep them properly watered and properly fed. I go directly in the ground now. I would suggest going as big as possible. You won't regret it and if you've never grown outside you'll be surprised what a two month veg will produce under the big halide . That's not even taking the stretch into consideration.

If you're going to keep them in pots you might want to start them flowering based on whether or not the plants are ready rather than a pre-set date. That'll keep them from getting root bound, and probably get you better results, no matter what size pots you use. I have one plant in the ground and one in a pot (not sure what size, I never checked) and the girl in the pot is just about ready to go, I'm just taking a couple of clones before I shift her to flower.
Whatever you decide good luck.
