Fuck man, I'm lucky..

So like I forgot to mention this on the fourth I'm walking down to the corner store to get munchies and like a cop sitting in the shop is totally munching on a doughnut.. Was funny to me..

But anyways I'm reaking of pot.. wearing a tiedye shirt, jeans a little worn out and some sandles... Anyways I walkup to the counter with what I was getting and didn't realize I had a fucking joint in my pocket and it landed on the counter.. I was thinking "Oh FUCK!" as I did so.. the cop saw it and of course picks it up.. sniffs it and says "Man, Captian hemp, you must be having a hell of a fourth.".. I can't help but crack a smile cause I'm fucked five ways from friday on that so I replied with "Yeah, traffic is crazy though so I'm walking" he shoots me a smile and says "Hell, go on ain't gonna rain on some kids fourth of july." and I just say as I head on out "Heeey mannn, if your shootin' off any fireworks, like man careful may stronger then they look" as I left and he bust out laughing cause I must have sounded like the most sterotypical pothead on earth..


I get home and well you get what I did, I rolled a fat one up..

This was in my hometown btw, not where I live now.

lol that's the way cops should be. What you got there boy? Some harmless plant matter with no physically addictive properties and less motor impairment than alcohol? Go ahead and smoke that joint.

I'm betting I made that cops day though, cause that shit was the fucking bomb.. wish I didn't lose that joint.

This is a perfect example of the times we live in. This should be the norm, and I hope it's getting there. If that copper had done anything more than seized that hooter, it would have meant paperwork for him. Instead he got your jay and got to keep leaning on the counter stuffing his face with donuts.

It's also possible that he was off-duty and moonlighting as a Uniformed security guard for the store. In which case, he was powerless to act.

Take it as a lesson about walking around like Slater from Dazed and Confused when you are carrying.

Yep. Not all cops are dicks. I think 80/20 is the official statistic. Me and three friends were driving out of DC at 3AM passing a joint around in a car when we missed a turn and U-turned kind of hastily at the next light. We had just put the joint out at that point when we saw the "red/blue fuck you" and it knocked the happy out of the whole evening.
BUT:
It was one female cop and the driver put on his best sober face then explained that we were lost and trying to get to College Park, Maryland. This cop smiled and gave us the most friendly and precise directions anyone could have asked for.

Said to drive careful and let us go. And we went, stunned. Slowly but surely the happy returned.

Unfortunately, that's never happened before or since. It was a rare and special experience.

But I guess hes one of the cool ones that didn't forget they was a kid once too plus I wasn't doing anyone any harm just walking to the store on munchy duty.

Yea, if you had driven there and were disrespectful and shit he probably would have taken the time to go through the routine. Respecting a cop gets you a long ways, people don't understand that they're humans just like you and me. If someone comes into my work and is disrespectful to me off the bat I'm not going to treat them with any respect, but if they show me some respect or even common courtesy they get a lot further.

cop took it because when he got home he had to "roll a fat one up", cop eating a donut never gets old though--

I've got some great LE friends, yes they are just people, they're not any better and most aren't any worse... thought of course there are always bad apples, kind of like the guy I just quoted.

Like I said, there are bad cops, but most are just out there to help and protect... in my experience with cops, I've learned that being nice, respectful, and courteous gets me a lot further than being an arrogant stuck up bitch. Like the other poster said, you disrespect me at my job and I'll bring it right back to you. I smoke everyday, see cops everyday, have had plenty of cop/citizen interaction and never once have I had a complaint.

granted in a small city hick town, cops have nothing better to do OR are to incompetent to get anything important done

good for you, hope it stays that way--i really do---i'm not a bad apple, never tried to be. I just hate cops, really hate cops. I know my rights and am courteous when exercising them when i have had contact(saves me a shake/beat down---ok just saves from the beat down) the more i think about cops the more i hate them.
