Fungus Gnats

Went to water my clones today and realized after i had already given them a drink that there were a few gnats flying around. I read up on the hydrogen peroxide method to get rid of them but ill have to wait until they dry out again unfortunately. My question is how damaging are gnats compared to other pests? Should i be sprinting around trying to find solutions asap or do they take a while to do damage?

There r more annoying than anything, but there babies live and eat at the root structure which could cause a problem so getting them under control is best option. IMO

I gotchya, thanks for the reply. I just hope the population doesnt explode before they dry out again since i just watered them. Whats the best solution you've found? And my plants are in an unfinished basement which makes me think that its just going to be a reoccurring problem

Having the same problem. I'm using soap water in coffee mugs trapping lots after one day. I also tried D.E. I'm sure it works but you don't see the dead little fuckers! Keep smoking!

bt works pretty good for me. ive tried mosquito dunks ( powdered- on or in the grow media, or in the water), and also ewc (tea or or as top dress) . both seem to work just fine. D.E. might work but thge one time i tried it, it turned the top layer of my pots into clay so i havnt messed around with it again.

Use some Azamax when you water. Let your pots get bone dry, Gnats love wet soil. Yellow Sticky traps will help catch and kill some. Spray plants with DR. Bonners soap and Neem Oil mixture. Gnats live in the soil and eat the roots. Hydrogen Peroxide might kill them but it also kills your mychorrizae, not sure if I spelled that right.

You can buy BTi liquid cheaper than dunks. Brew up water with alittle molasses and BTi, aerate 24 hrs to 48 hrs..water.

what works good is leaf polish and dish soap , follor directions which I never do lol , in a spray bottle mix them and spray the soil with it, and say bye to those nats also do this all over the plants every 3 weeks or so during veg and a day before flowering
