Funny smelling bud

Alright, so here's the situation. This weekend I picked up a little less than an ounce of bud for about $260. It's pretty bomb and hits pretty hard. Not too dry, not too moist, just perfect. Nice and dense with trichomes and light orange hairs everywhere. So it's some BOMB.

However, it smells like a container of moldy socks. Not strong, but musky to the point that it almost makes you want to gag. I was wondering what would have caused it to smell this way? And would curing it in jars change the smell and taste for the better?

Edit: I do have pics, but they're cell phone quality and make this beautiful specimen look like some bammer.

That was my first thought, but after a thorough search it looks A OK. Got me puzzled. Every bag of weed I've gotten smelled relatively strong with a different variety of skunky smell. Whether it be sweet or sour or just SKUNK. weird shit.

Ditto... No putrid bud on my end...

Maybe you should get a second opinion

I've already gotten a second opinion from some buddies. They all say that it's some funky smelling bud. Mold would be white or black, correct?

I haven't seen it in person on bud, but yeah. I do believe so

Have you considered that it could have been in with some moldy bud and has just taken on the smell. You know, sometimes you have bread that only part gets moldy but the whole loaf smells like mold.

i seen blue mold on bud before...ha and we smoked that shit anyways.....

Never thought about that. That makes good sense, though. Maybe the dude had a batch of moldy bud and only picked out what didn't have mold on it? Or he just scraped the mold off. I hope not.

dont get me wrong though it wasnt like big spots of mold it looked like blue keif or somethin.... just here and there..... i tried lookin it up later think it was some kinda citrus mold or somethin.....ha and i remember there was a dude that posted that he and his friends had a quarter of bud that had white spider web mold all over it and they dared one of them to eat it and he did...all of it....said his bud got sick that night but was fine later...ha i thought that was funny thought

This has to be some of the dankest bud I've smoked in a while, though. Tastes like shit, but it's worth it.

i got some regs one time that smelled like pure cat piss...
