Before anyone has a pop i know this is a duplicate thread but after nearly 100 views no-one has even commented on it in general growing
Well today i put in an order for some coco,nutrients etc and while i was chatting to the bloke at the hydro store asked him if he had perlite I could add to my order and although he doesnt sell it he has just started stocking something thats supposed to be a perlite replacement called FYTOCELL, apparently its a man-made spun fibre or something and was just wondering if anyone on here had ever had any dealings with it as he is going to include a free 25litre sample in my order for me to try out!
Apparently horticulturists have been using it for years but hydro growers havent picked up on it yet??
Any info anyone can give me would be appreciated

The good capillary action of Fytocell means that water is drawn up to the top of the slab or flake bag encouraging feeder roots to develop throughout the whole substrate.
Easy Water Management
Fytocell is grower-friendly. It is impossible to over-wet. Even when a slab or bag is saturated the Fytocell structure ensures there is sufficient air for healthy root growth so there is never a need to dry Fytocell out in order to oxygenate the substrate.
Should Fytocell dry out for any reason, re-wetting is simple and trouble-free.
Biodegradable and Compostable
Fytocell is an aminoplast. It is harmless to the environment and is biodegradable and compostable making disposal easier and helping to meet the green requirements of many major buying organisations.
Perfect for Salads
Fytocell is the perfect substrate for tomato, cucumber and pepper crops grown under glass and can be supplied in either bagged slab or flake bags.
