Germinating in paper towel vs Strait to organic soil??

Soak in kelp, humic/fulvic acids and lacto bacillus for 4 hours. pH is 4.6 and ppm is 220. The low pH increases the solutions ability to absorb into the seed. Then I sow into light warrior seed mix. And what you see here is 2 days from sow. More are on there way today or tomorrow as the soil is starting to rise above the sowd seed. 1445185730168.jpg 1445185801244.jpg 1445185331507.jpg

And it's not just cannabis seed. I have veggies and herbs too, so the possible nay sayers who claim my seeds are fresher, more vigorous/healthy can put that shit aside. I think I have already shown my method works. But I'll drop one more pic tomorrow and we'll see how many have popped.
That's 4 days total from the time the dry seeds came out the packs.

I think this thread has proven it all works lol. I've had seeds germ in the bottom of an aluminum boat in the spring that was used to gather plants the previous fall lol. Once in a damp corner in my college apartment a plant sprouted out of the carpet lol.
That's alot of lol's. You seem like a pretty funny guy, not a towel. You must have gotten just a little high, I bet. Take care funny guy.
This is my new signature- Keepin it funny, just like Budley. LOL

well, the shit did grow for a million years before we ever touched it. I wonder what Jurassic weed was like?

soak in water for 12 hours or so, shove them in Jiffy pellets, 1st ones up in 2 days...all up in 4 or so...

paper towels kinda suck the first time the little hairs off the tap root penetrate the paper towel fabric. you can hear them rip when trying to lift off the paper towel if that happens, and that was the last time I ever used a paper towel for that...live and learn

Yeah, I just don't understand the towel method. The second a root is produced it has a function. Paper toweling is not the home for roots and nobody uses it in their pots. And like you said about the root hairs getting stuck, it's happened to me before as well. Never again. Paper towels are supposedly known for having high 02 ratio to moisture which encourages germination. Every paper towel I've used was too wet and when I rung it out it was too dry.
Properly made soil or plugs will give much better results and you won't be tearing the hair roots away from their anchor. That equates to stress in my opinion and seedlings don't need to experience any stress, especially when trying to establish themselves. There's alot of bro - science on this site. just saying-

Like I said earlier it all works, some like going straight into dirt, I like paper towel. Its not bro science by the way lol its preference. And ya dont let the tap root grow into the paper thats a bad thing but you can also cut around the root and plant the little piece of paper with it. I've done both and I have better luck with paper but thats not to say everyone should do it. So do what works for you.

Yup we've established that seeds grow out of dirt but thank you :).

hey guys i just received some seeds from kingdom organic, and im wondering should i plant them strait into the soil?
the site says this: We recommend germinating KOS seeds directly into soil-mix at approx. ½ - ¾ inches in depth. There is no need to drop the seeds into water first, or use paper towels; our seeds are extremely viable and seeds planted directly into soil-mix end up being stronger and healthier plants in my experience.

ok. so im pretty sure they are talking about if you are using their soil line, TLO soils, but im using a similar organic soil. Ive been using the paper towel method as long as i have been growing, what do you guys think i should do?
Thanks

Germination: is a process, germing will happen anywhere theres light ..heat ..and water,

doing it unnatural like in a dish with the correct conditions is no biggy,

it merely informs you that your seeds have hatched and are ready for the next stage,

you also see if you have been ripped off, by being sold shit seeds

and germing is faster too, as the conditions are immediate

light, heat and water can give imbalance issues in a pot(3 usgallon)

pots can be hot/cold, water sinks ..etc etc where as in the lab situation(damp paper towel, dish)

everything can be much closer monitored, but that said too many times my towel has dried up

so stay sharp, imo..the only time germing in a pot is equal to germing in a dish is when the conditions

to the pot are similar or better than conditions in your DIY lab ...lol

Just trying to keep it lite gramps. To many of us "old guys" are just way to serious. LOL. Also not sure if its because I'm high, as I'm always high or really high :).
