Germination question

I germed some seeds using the paper towel method. There tap roots were around 1/2", I placed them in pots about 1/2" below the surface in moist pro mix. How long should it take them to emerge from the soil?

Yea, it's been 24 hours now and nothing... They are in smart pots and the soil is moist. I have no grow lights and they were sitting in the garage, not real warm in there, like 70. I moved them outside tonight into a semi shaded area with clear cups full of holes over the seeds, hopefully the heat tomorrow makes em pop out

be patient, some can take a little bit longer to break soil. id keep em in your closet or somewhere thats somewhat warm, 70 is fine honestly. just make sure they get light as soon as they break soil.

they should pop with the warmth. I kinda do the same thing. a good tap root to them and plant them just under the soil. abit of soil over top and put them in my box. by next day there thru.

Yea I'm hoping the sun warms the soil and makes em go, the cup over the top is an attempt to make it a lil humid and protect it. I've got holes in it so it won't get to hot.

should see some cotyledons popping out in a few hours, maybe more maybe less, varies with phenos and strains sometimes.

I sure hope so, first time starting with seeds and getting a little nervous. Strain is polar express auto if that matters

after you gotta tap root theres not much too it, after that you just play the waiting game really. just make sure their soil stays a little bit moist for the first couple days, post pics if you have any problems. and if it doesnt emerge within 5 days, maybe brush off some of the topsoil and check, ive done this before and found beans were just about to break soil, it wont harm them too much but its a lot better to be gentle when doing so, i use a pencil to play with the soil usually.

they should be good since theres holes in the cups, in the event they do tip over just tie them to a stick for support.
