I've finally set myself all up...I have the bowl trimmer, the bags for the hash, and just got a 2 ton press for x-mas for the mrs. and she also got me one of those HI infusion machines the tommy chong talks about. But here's my problem. How do I get the best out of the plant now...do I heat up the whole plant up in the oven and use it in the infuser or do I use the hash bags and then press it and then use the rosin in the infuser...I want to make sure I get the CBD out of the plant as well...does anyone have any ideas please?

Well if you are talking about pressing the hash from the bags you probably want to get a freeze dryer. You don't wanna press wet pucks. The 45 micron metal mesh works best for pressing the freeze dried hash. They cost more but the 76u nylon bags have too big a pore size and the trichomes heads can get through on many strains. Press your dried patty at a lower temp, around 190 - 200F, first just barely press the patty and give it a little time to warm up, then when you see it's starting to melt you can start adding pressure as the rosin oozes out of the screened puck.

Not sure about the infuser, are you making edibles? If so then you want a decarb step on the rosin, maybe the infuser does this? Send me a link to your infuser product and I will take a look at what it does.

Some strains have shitty wash rates and you don't get much out of them using the bags, if you have a pound to process it's probably best to do a smaller test run on the material before committing all your product, you may end up finding it's better to take the time / parchment / bags to press all the nug directly. Just track the numbers, if you put 100 grams in and only get one gram of has out of the wash then thats not gonna float lol.

The CBD is in the plant oils for sure and is stripped with a solvent as well. So if you have limited material, a wash doesnt go well like a frosty strain only gives you 2 percent wash then as a last resort you can dry that material back out and use an ethanol extraction to make tincture or evaporate the solvent leaving the oil.
