Ghettofabulous closet

So nobody responded to my 1st thread, so I made a new one with a flashier title:-|...so this is my first grow in my ghettocloset...my initial questions are...

1) I'm growing from shwag seeds, I figured if I take care of the plant during growing and harvest it wouldnt be that bad (just until I get some funds)....is this pointless? Is shwag...shwag???

2)lil dude is 2 weeks old in the pic, the stem is pretty thin...is this the stretching I've been reading about? Not enough light or something??

3) Is this setup ok for 1-2 plants?? One small fan to circulate air, using miricale grow soil and nutrients and a 100 watt reptile light (basking)?

4) I read somewhere its ok to have the light on 24/7 for faster growth and thats what I'm doing...is this ok??

Should I just say fuck it and opt for the dank seeds? How sketchy is it to get those delivered to your door in the US? Thanks for any input...Z

first...during the veg stage....24/7 light i great. the streching result from the light being to far from the light. stay away from reptile lights as thoses give off the most heat.(hence the reason they are for reptiles)

give me pix on the grow room.

NO MIRACLE GROW!!!! tho its not listed...some have time released nutrients that are harmful to the plant.

I also JUST read about how MG sucks ass, sorry to all...maybe I should have done some research first huh??? Is it too young to transplant into something else?? Recomendations for soil?? Will one of those cfl's work for this...1-2 plants?? Z:blsmoke:

two cfls in the mid 20-40 watt range will keep those two plants going till you get into flowering. if you want bigger plants youll need more light.

the soil isnt going to be too much of a problem, ive seen some okay looking grows with mg soil. the reason most people recommend other brands is because alot of the people here are serious growers who only want the best. if youre growing just for fun or trying it out its not a big deal especially with bagseeds. i wouldnt try to change the pot and soil right now you will most likely kill the little plant.

to question #1... i have seen some pretty good nugget grown from schwag seeds. then again its nothing insane but still it was kb. im sure that guy was lucky tho, its gotta be hit or miss. its better to get good genes when you can, but for starting out bagseed is prob best. i killed ten fem green spirit and ten fem skunk passion before i ever got anything to flower! that was a lot of wasted money.

I'm stoked to hear that actually...makes sense....first time grower with dank seeds might waste a lot of money...those seeds aren't cheap...so i think i'll hit up walmart for some new lights 2morrow....will that reptile light work for the flowering stage? Should I even waste time making clones with the shwag factor, or should i just cross my fingers and hope it's a girl? I've watched videos, read a lot and for some reason I still have questions....so change the light cycle when the plant is about 20-25" tall? Will one or two plants really smell my closet up that bad?? ahhh!!! So many questions!!!!!!!

its hard to say about the light w/o more info. what is the wattage and spectrum? you should try googling a lot of your questions and also check out the grow faq here its been really useful to me. you can change the light cycle once the plant is about 3 weeks and 8 inches tall, thats what i did and they are about 2.5 to 3 ft now almost done flowering. or you can wait and let your plant get bigger if you want its all personal pref. also if you don't have much light, you may want to try and keep your plant somewhat short so the light can penetrate to the bottom.

Ya, I think the plants stem is just too skinny, it grows out and taller everyday it seems like, but the main stem is pretty thin and not looking like its getting phatter!! In a week it will be 3 wks old, hopefully the stem will phatten out....about the lights, I dont know what im gonna do...is there a cheap alternative that I can go for...full time students dont make that
much:cry:...maybe i'll go to walmart and get some cfl's and ghetto rig it somehow, but then I'll have to get a different lights for the flowering....is there a light that is CHEAP and can be used for growing AND flowering? Z:joint:

read this for info on lights:

https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/8513-cfl-vs-floro-vs-hps.html

you can flower with cfl's but youll need more of them once you start the flowering phase. if you flower when your plant is 20-25 inches tall it will end up around 60-75 inches once its done. the rule of thumb is that the plant will triple in size when flowering. for something that size you will need a lot of lights, not to mention the space problem.

dont worry about the stem being thin, it wont fill out until it has some weight on top that it needs to hold up. if it stretches too much and starts to tip over simply add some more soil up and bury some of the stem for support. it looks kinda small for 3 weeks, i dont think that light you have on it is sufficient. you can check out my cheap grow here:

https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/20886-newbie-grow-macgyver-style-pics.html

and see how much bigger my plant is at 3 weeks with only one 27 watt cfl. a two pack of 27 watt cfl cost me 8 bucks.

Well, I picked up some lights today and I also got this pretty cool reptile cfl holder/reflector. It holds 3 cfl's it says <27 watts per outlet, I got my 40 watt's already so oh well, I also got some planters, mg organic since I heard that was better, and some digi gauges temp/humidity....It was kinda funny how long it took to realize how i was gonna do this...I used fishing line 25lb tess and wraped it on either end of the light fixture, then made various nots in different places to balance everything right and ended up with what u see in the pics, the speaker wire that is knotted through the fishing line is connected to the hanger bar in my closet that spins!! So all I have to do is spin the rod left or right to control light height! I ended up just transfering the lil 2wker into the better soil, and put three germinated seeds in the other pots. I'm stoked. Humidity is at 48% and temp is 78.3 F. I spent about a hundred bucks, which is just what I wanted to spend. We will see what happens. wish me luck on the first grow:joint::joint::joint: Z

looks good so far, you might want to have that fan blowing across the bulbs as the temps right under the lights is what the plans are feeling. it may be higher than 78 degrees right under the lamps. the little bit of wind will also make the stem of the plant thicken up faster. good luck with the grow bro.
