Gl80 First grow

Down to five plants now. all i need is two to be female, i forgot to label so who knows anyway at this point. so on the couple seedlings i killed i figured i would check and see what the roots looked like. suprisingly all of the roots looked great, i should of took a picture, but one thing i did notice was that all the “smaller ones” i got rid of were the ones i had in peat plugs. i think part of my problem was growing in terra canna pro AND using the peat plug, they dry at different rates so the plants main roots were constantly water logged, because i was watering when the medium was dry, not the peat plug. figure thats important though, im not going to risk using them again, paper towel worked fine.

one on the left
one on the right

these are at day 7, i THINK the two smaller ones are the different strain, it seems all the other plants, including the older ones, are probably the other strain

ive had the new led for 15 minutes and WOW. now i know how shitty the vipar specrra actually is, complete chinese junk, anything chinese is essentially garbage, including all the weed they grow in cali and send out east lol

this light is keeping my temps right arpund 74 my minimum since putting it in has been 71 and max has been 76, i couldnt get the temp under 80 with the viparspectra, lovin this led, we’ll see during flowering what the real deal is though

looking at my tent im trying to think about improvising somethjng to get back some of the height lost from the led hanging from cables, i havent measured the actual distance but it must be at least 6”, safety wise im wondering also if it would be safe

day 17 on the first three
day 9 on the other two

looks like i have light burn from the led, i raised the light to 47” from the bottom of the tent floor, finding out its better to just do that than to tey and attempt to measure from each plant. also am refretting starting the second set of plants, im going to give whatever extra females i have to a friend because i am only keeping two, but having two different times in the tent sucks, lesson learned. looking on amazon, going to buy a CREE COB led to help and/or use for flowering. do these look healthy otherwise?

temps 70-80
RH 40-50%
18/6 light
still conflicted on what i should be doing if using nutes, but am just going to continue giving the light feeding of bio vege that i have been giving. also was able to get some non chlorinated well water to make a tea with em-1 with.

the one on the bottom was burned pretty bad

i can tell if i left the led at the height and not moved it it probably wouldve fried all of them, i can see a little bit on the bigger ones they got burned too, hopefully theyll be better now

are those preflowers? or is that just the spot i watch to see if its preflowers? i can see a couple tiny hairs or something on the sides, i still dont know if there are males or not

That is the spot to watch, and they won't show until you flip to 12/12. If I were you, I'd start a thread in the led section with your budget and size of tent. They'll be able to give you your best option for what you can do. Cree cobs aren't crap, but there are I'm better options at a similar price point, especially if you are willing to build it.

so as i finished the post earlier the leds were hanging 49” from the bottom of the tent, i lowere it to 47” to see what would happen, and the new growth on one of the plants was standing straight up and the leaves felt kind of crispy/dry when i ran my hand over them. so i raised the light back to 49” now which is 39” from the tallest plant.
is this maybe a cause from nutrient burn? i have read that maybe nutrient burn+ strong led would cause this together? any suggestions. im going to purchase a hid when it gets colder to run winter grows with, led is for hotter months. not on a budget for the most part, just dont have a whole lot of space other than this tent. is the led too much for the tent? is that possible?

definitely not to much light. Can you link to the light? I guarantee it's not 600w. The blurple light makers like to use "equivalent numbers" which is bs.
Have a look through other peoples grow journals here using led and you should have more of an idea what to expect. A lot of people hang them around 18 in from canopy. I go closer with mine as they are very spread out.

Now, a lot of people do start seedlings with the light up and let them grow to it, so you might be fine leaving them where they are.

ok so i think its nutrient burn, its a p450, only pulling 130 watts at the wall on veg switch, i guess im going to just start feeding plain water, i dont know im confused and worried they are burning, i think i over watered over nute and i messed up from the start not using just soil and am stuck with this terra canna pro plus which i have no idea wtf the deal is with it

They look mostly fine. Water only, is a good idea during the early phase, start nutes at half the recommended dosage on the bottle in a week, ramp it up when the plants tell you to. Don't water to much, don't dry em out. You're doing ok, let them do their thing. A week from now they'll look like plants, not seedlings, and should be taking off. You've made it through one of the most vulnerable stages of life with a successful germination.

its a platinum p450, one of the little ones wasnt even standing up it was roasted for sure, the edges of the leaves feel sharp almost brittle on the ones that are left, i think it is nute burn added in with light burn or both of them making the other worse. terra canna pro plus has nutes mixed in already for two weeks apparently and i have been feeding it bio vege. im down to just the three big ones, i yprooted the two little ones

yes exaclty just water until they ate in veg stage, theyre still seedlings and ive stinted the shit out of their growth, i think theyll survive though if i stop the nutes for now

Be patient. Can be hard, I know. Read, learn, plan, but chill and try not to overthink things. I went nuts the first few grows I did. They'll be growing big in no time, even if daily it seems like no change.
Do this, take pics every three days and post em. You'll see how much they are growing.

so it was wind burn, not light burn, maybe some small case of nute burn but probably mostly wind burn. i had two fans in the tent, not including the inline hanging exhaust. the fan that was on the floor of the tent, i was overwatering so much and tryed to flush the plants, i THOUGHT #1 having a fan directly blowing on the plants was good and #2 was trying to help dry out the coco by blowing the fan directly on it/them. it shows on all the plants because i constantly would shift them randomly in the tent, giving each one a turn being completely thrashed in front of the fan. well that probably explanis alot, got the fan out of the tent and moved the light closer. lol the led i have pulls 138 watts on veg mode theres no way in hell it was light burn, well at least am getting shit like this out of the way on first grow.

when do i top them? 5 nodes?
I start training when the plant is half the height i want it to be, but there are a zillion ways to skin that cat. FIM, manifolding, the weird shit I do, have a look at peoples journals and decide how you want the p;lant to be structured and go from there.
Wind burn makes sense. Cool you figured it out.
