before i say anything, i dont work or am affliated with any company this is ust my two cents. i run a perpetual grow, i plant 12 every two weeks and harvest every two weeks, coco watered every day with H&G nutes, and i keep it nute simple. c02 sealed flowering room. been at it a few years, everything is dailed in. been fighting a whitefly infest for a couple of months, got real bad recently. botom line is i started with AZAtrol hydro, at 15ml per 5gal res. that crap nearly put me out by killing 2 cycles(24pots) and severly damaging one. set me back a month and a half. 80$ a bottle and it didnt do shit to the larvea in my res.
neem oil didnt do shit either when i sprayed the under leaves the eggs were unharmed although it did seem to kill the flies on contact. even bought some DM Zone, yes i know its for the roots but it also states that in high concentration it can kills bugs (check the site), but once again no dice. mosquito dunks got laughed at and they make a bit of a mess in the reservoirs. eventually i tried gognats, stuff was 24 bucks. it been a week and already i am back to 80% bug free.the stuff is thick white and reeks of cedarsarted with 10 mls per 9gal res as opposed to the 30 something they recomended (didnt want another azatrol killing) and that did the trick. larvae are pretty much non existant in the res', and when you spray the leaves the flies scatter like roaches, i think they hate the smell as well which i liked cause my growroom smells like a furniture store but not to strong.i got spooked cause a few days after application i saw larvae coming back in the res so i added another 5mls to each. turns out under scope it was just white fly corpses that must have comes from the recirculation.very minimal whiteflys circling as i also put some sticky traps. anyway thats my two cents. if you have bug problems give this stuf a try, its cheap and it does the trick first time.
on a side noe i also noted mimimal algea buildup as wellm but it was never a major problem anyway. cheers mate
