Going back to my roots

Hi, it's been awhile since I've been here, and many years since i have had an indoor grow.

I have decided to back to where I started and get growing with a DWC setup. But this time I'm going with a led light system.

I am starting completely from scratch, so would like some advice about the set-up I am looking at.

Firstly I will start with my goals. I want a simply and clean two plant grow (something to keep me going through the colder months) I am going with what I know in regards to the DWC. But LED is new to me and I am not sure about overall size and filtration.

I am considering a white Homebox 1.2m x 0.9m x 1.8m tent, a Spider Farmer SE 3000 True watt 300w light, and an in-line carbon filter.
I believe the light is good for 0.9m x 0.9m grow space (the extra .03m is room for additional power boards and equipment)

Does that sound like reasonable setup?
What size fan and carbon filter should I look at? and is in-line silenced the way to go?
Is there a better light option for this set-up at a similar price? (I am keen for this tent as it fits the space I have)

I have my beans and am minutes away from ordering the equipment, but thought I should ask if I'm on the right track first.

Thanks heaps in advance

I’ve been running 240w in a 3x3 just fine

Also my fan and filter are 4” which I have on the outside blowing into the filter and then long ducting in the empty holes for passive return air and to block light. No smell

Thanks Gemtree, That filter set-up sounds good and will free up space in the tent.

Looks good. Might be a little more light than you need but you can always raise it or dim it if you have any problems.

I might lean towards a 6” fan for the reasons om2 suggested.

I suggest get a 6 inch fan for a 3x4 tent running on lower speed, quieter and you have the extra airflow if needed.

And if you can add another 100€, this light would be a great choice, very high quality https://lumatek-lighting.com/ats300w-pro/
Maybe you could shave around 50€ for a cheaper tent if you have to, although i admit the Homebox is a beautiful tent.
Hey that has far red in it. That’s neat.

Love it, thanks. I should be able to manage that, and it happens to be in stock at my closest shop.

Yes, I really love the white Homebox. It will be nice to get away from the old black beast with silver interior I used to use.

Being in Aus I had a lot of trouble getting seeds in this time, used to be easy years ago. But I finally managed to get some from Herbies and can't wait to get growing again. I almost gave up.

Well, I am finally growing. Made a few changes and went a slightly smaller set-up.
Due to some hassles and impatience I decided to get things started in soil, as one of my goals is to get some clones for the fast-approaching outdoor season here.

Things started a little rough. I struggled with the cold temps i was having. The seedlings were going very slow, then started looking like death.

I think the cold stunted their upper growth, but the roots continued, and they became rootbound without me noticing (Should have gone with DWC)

Anyway, they are starting to come back strong. I think I will give them a couple more weeks before transplanting. Then a couple more before taking cuttings and then flipping.

The one on the left is Lemon amnesia, back one is Red hot cookies, front right is Gorilla cookies.

Like I said, my main aim here is to get some decent clones for the summer. Then I will get the DWC set-up.
