Going on Vacation

Leaving the house for 4 days - do not trust my HPS lights and timer - is it ok to have my plants in full dark for 4 days? They are within 2 weeks of harvest. Or would it be better to just at least have a incandescent light bulb in grow room on 12/12 timer. Will it drastically screw them up? Thanks for any help.

i left some plants in the dark for 2 days as i was gonna chop after the first 24hrs, but something came up. By 48hrs they were awefully wilty and difficult to trim. You may be better off to run a cfl for the days you'll be away just to keep them in the same state. (and I am assuming they are in flower... if not you'll trip them into flower after 4 days of dark!)

Why don't you trust your lights and timer? I'd probably just address that problem instead of leaving them in the dark. If you're worried about fire, you should probably be worried about it while you're at home sleeping, too.

For what reason do you not trust your light and timer?

being a first time grower i feel the same way. im going to puerto rico in a couple of months and im thinking about just paying my budy some money to stay here. my problem isnt with my equipment but with this apartment complex. it was built in the 70's and its got a water leak that they cant figure out. thats why i live on the beach for 650 bucks a month in a 2 bedroom lol. so no im not moving. im not an electrician and i dont know how much my circuits can handle and how many watts im running. from what my buddy says running a 400w plus the vent equipment will never blow a circuit so i trust him. running a cfl sounds like it would be the way to go if u r worried tho. or get a friend (if u trust anyone that much) to watch ur shit
