Going to the hydro store.. :/

Hi, new to the forum, i DO have a cannabis card! am 19 and living in the bay area, California
recently put together a new grow setup i plan to post pictures later -- only close garden store near by is Orchard Supply , but in the same city San Leandro they have a hydro store i plan to do a soil grow NOT a hydro grow, i am making a list but need to know EXACTLY! what to get -- because i heard soil with wrong time nutrient releases can kill ur plant etc...
i will get Foxfarm soil, but what type , i also plan to use the same soil for BOTH vegging and flowering (I don't need TOP tier bud, as i purchase that when needed...), and will buy 'ferlite'?, but with no nutes? anything else? - plz further explain for a fellow newbie on exactly what to write down exactly/get, MUCH appreciated! thx and stay high

If you buy the fox farm ocean mix soil it has the right nutes in it for about 3-4 weeks so you don't have to worry about that. It makes it much easier. One bag of the soil is good for 4 plants. You really should get a nute plan from the guy at the store in a 2 part setup. They have easy and inexspensive ones and it will really help.

you should get roots organics soil. has more nutrients in it they say you dont have to feed it nutrients for the first month or two.

Thanks for the replies, heard Foxfarm was the best.... also theres not any generic but good nutes to get? and when adding nutes after the 3-4 weeks, do you mix put the nutrients on top or replant the whole plant after mixing in nutes with fresh soil? completely new, but want to get things pretty close to perfect also using a mix of flourescent lights and CFL is ok to have them both working together? have alot of them in a really good reflective grow box though

the more light the better
just get the right bulbs
CFL's are fine
100w for every plant
200w = 2 plants
300w = 3
and so on

thanks. any ways to get the plants to grow wider instead of taller? and some people veg for as low as 4 weeks then flower? lol seen one guy for only 2 weeks veg!

Grow it wider by training the plant, be is scrog or LST. Sounds like you have a LOT of reading to do
