As far as films go.
Vampire Hunter D and VHD Bloodlust.
Bastard! (loaded with Heavy Metal references)
Wicked City.
Demon City Shinjuku.
Casshan Robot Hunter. The original film (especially if you're a Mega Man X fan)
There's a sequel mini series that's decent but it's more recent. It's ok though. There's also a live action adaptation that's worth watching at least once. The cgi is a dated nowadays. The soundtrack and scenery are pretty damn cool. Adds a lot to it.
Highlander The Search for Vengeance.
Graveyard of the Fireflies. Watch it if you want to go on a feel trip.
Dante's Inferno and animated Epic.
