Hey everyone. So i got some seeds, dont know the strain though. I tried growing in a pc tower stealth box, but it didn't work out and they just died today. I looked around my house and found a plastic container. I will be growing 3 plants under 4-5 30 watt cfl's 2000 lumens each. Is it ok if the container is air tight but i have a fan in there? And is 3 plants ok or can i fit more in there? Thanks Alot CHEERS

Blowing the same stale air around is not going to work my friend. What happened with the tower grow? Suggestion, read, study, plan, act. There is a ton of great info on building cabs and even cardboard box grows, here on RIU. Good Luck, and don'tplant your seeds until you have put some thought and planning into growing.

As far as air intake/outtake go, CFLs don't run very hot, so you can keep them close and not sweat it too badly, no pun intended. A small desk fan, something like 6 inches from walmart, angled sorta up should keep it cool, with one hole near the bottom and one near the top.

Heat rises, so the fan will help push the hot air out the top hole, and cold air will be pulled in though the bottom one. Some people use PC fans, but I think a small desk fan is better because it'll actually blow on the plant.

As for the actual holes, Im sure a 2" to 4" hole would suffice. Most people make a light trap and/or carbon filter for them to make the cab more light-tight.

I have computer fans hooked up to a charger that i was using for my pc tower. Should i just use one of those, and should it be intake or outake if im justing using one, and ill also add a small fan int ehre perhaps

First, is the container big enough for your plant count at flower? Second, you will need to replace fresh air into the area. Plants take in co2 during lights on, and o2 during lights off, so a flow of air is what you want. A fan for the grow space will keep the air inside moving and help strengthen the plant to handle the weight of buds. Make your intake low, output high. Only need a fan on the out, as this will create negative pressure, in turn drawing fresh air into the space via the passive intake.
