Good ideas on how to move plants? Will a slight change in light cycle cause stress?

Im moving next week and wondering if you guys have any good ideas on how to move plants that are about 4ft tall including the pot and 2ft wide. The only thing I can think of is the big wardrobe boxes but just wondering if you guys have any better/cheaper ideas since the boxes are like $13 each. Im only moving about 5 minutes away so long term isnt an issue Id just rather my new neighbors dont see me carrying my girls LOL.

Also im 2 weeks into flowering and wondering if the light cycle changes by like 20 minutes or so it will affect the plants at all? I wouldnt think so as long as its still 12/12. Im using a mechanical timer so its hard to get the exact time down and obviously im gonna have to unplug it when I move. Ill probably just buy a digital timer a few days after the move but may not have time till later so just curious what you guys think.

I'd get some 4-foot long bamboo skewers from WalMart and push 3 or 4 into the soil surrounding each main stem. Then a ball of twine wrapped around the plant like a long string of Christmas lights with each pass anchored to the skewers. Three or four times around the plant should provide the support you will need to move your gals. Get a digital timer for $5-6, set it at 12/12 for flowering and forget about it. Plants will be much more stressed by the move than they would be by any 20 minute shift in the light cycle. Remember with a digital timer that you need to reset it every time your electricity goes out. Here in the Michigan northwoods I lose juice every big wind storm in the winter and have to keep an eye peeled for blinking lights reading 12:00. Oh yeah, another good way to move larger plants is to place the plant, pot and all, inside a garbage can or other large container. Or find a bud with a van or enclosed truck. Good luck, BigSteve.

Never thought about the big garbage cans thats a good idea. Would probably cost me more than the moving boxes though....but then again I could just use them as reservoirs later

The 20 minutes won't make any difference this early in flower. For that matter, 20 minutes won't make any difference at any stage of development. They should be fine.

Thats what I thought since Im sure the suns cycle can change slightly too. Thanks, that will save me from having to buy more than 1 digital timer, just need the 1 for my DTW system once I set it up :).

They really need to make a digital timer with 2 outlets than you can program for 2 different schedules for each outlet. That way you could have 1 timer controlling your light and Pumps/fans/etc.

I have two digital ones made by GE. 2 banks of 4 outlets on each timer. One side is static and stays on continuously which is handy for air circulation or pumps. The other side is for the digital timer on the lights. Think I paid 20$ each a few years ago and have never had a problem with them. Try Lowes or HomeDepot.

Yes trash bags wrap the whole plant and its not obvious.
Thanks man I think I will do that instead of paying like $40 for boxes Ill be using for like 10 minutes lol. I was thinking about throwing my curtains over them but the trash bags are probably a better idea since they are lighter and wont crush the plant at all.

Thanks again!

No problem bro. Yeah it's way easier and not as expensive those boxes get pricy when buying a lot especially the big ones.
